Updated Animation Commission Info. (Opening soon)
Alright, here it is. The animation commission thing. This has been needing an update, badly. I will do my best to make things clear and concise.
-ANIMATION SLOTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED VIA MY JOURNAL AND TWITTER (@flufflestuffed) WHEN AVAILABLE!!-
-THE CUSTOMER MUST BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING-
1. I tend not to use traditional frame-by frame animation. I will use it for certain effects more suited for it. But the majority of my work is done in Vectors. It's essentially working in 2.5d space and characters need to be "sculpted" rather than drawn.
2. You aren't just paying for the animation, you are paying for the Rig, and associated vector sculpts. If your rig can be re-used for different animations, those animations will be cheaper than base price.
2a. A rig is essentially a vector sculpt that is animated with bones, much like a 3d model. The animation process is somewhat similar.
3. One rig cannot be used for everything. If you want something like that, please seek a 3d animator. 3 dimensional vector Rigs are only good for showing off things like head/body turns and can't really walk or move across the screen fluidly. If the perspective of your animation changes too much. You will need to pay for another rig to be created.
4. All animation will be rendered at 1080p, 24 FPS in most cases. Please do not demand 60 fps animation. There are many reasons the majority of animators do not work at 60 fps, far too many to list. This is animation, not a video game.
4a. 1080p is the most my pc can handle rendering. Longer animations will be reduced to 720p. Postprocessing via Nvidia DLSS to upscale is available and Compositing via Davinci Resolve is doable.
5, Previews in the form of .gif captures and screen captures will likely lack post processing effects from the software. If you'd like to see the animation with current post processing applied, please inform me and I will render a 1 or 2 second clip instead.
6. Audio may not always be available or perfect. I will do my best to mix sounds that are needed for what you are after. If audio is provided expect the price to be reduced for it's addition.
7. Re-use of the animation is permitted. It is yours. I just request you do not claim to be the creator of it, and provide appropriate credit to me as the artist. Original files are available on request, as are .fbx exports if you would like to use your rig in unity titles, where applicable. Please do not upload non-watermarked versions publicly.
-PRICING-
-Character rigs-
Standard full body rig: $150. Includes 30 s of animation.
Torso and up: $135. Includes 30s of animation
Head only $75. Includes 30s of animation
Additional animation is $3/s after the initial 30s.
Simpler animations will have this cost reduced~
Bulk time can be added for $100 for the first additional 60 seconds. Or $60 for the first additonal 30 seconds with the prior offer available after. Any additional time will be the standard rate.
Note:
-For things like growth/inflation/weight gain, etc I'll usually add a couple seconds of very basic looping animation/camera wobble or whatever at the end for free to allow the viewer to appreciate the end size, etc.
-Alotted animation can be allocated to multiple .gifs instead of a single peice
-If the character needs to be remade from another angle, another fee may be charged. If the rig winds up being more simplistic due to scale/positioning/change of body shape it will likely cost less
-Previously made animation rigs can have new animations made for them for a small fee ranging from $5-25 unless significant additions need to be made. As stated above these are alot like 3d models and can scenes/poses can be re-used.
-Additional post processing-
Post-processed shading: Free, if doable.
Vector-based Cel-Shading: $50 per rig
Post-FX and compositing (done in Davinci Resolve) Including light-shafts, shadows, vignetting. $20
Video upscaling (Basically just Nvidia DLSS applied over the final product~ This may effect the appearance of things like soft-shadows and gradients) Free, if the render process takes under 30 minutes I guess? (it usually does, I may do it anyway just to make it look better after seeing recent results with it~)
*Please keep in mind i am encountering bugs with perspective shadows. I will add them where I can. Character shadows are still viable. (these turn out much better when compositing in davinci resolve)
Sound: $30, price of editing audio files is included with mixing. If you provide your own audio, only a $15 mixing/sequencing fee will be applied
If your animation extends over 2 minutes, expect an additional $10 per 60 seconds of non-looping audio that needs to be added
-PROPS-
-Premade assets for food, feeding tubes, and floaty YCH hands are all available with no extra charge-
Simple props- AKA anything that can be made using simple shape tools, or even .png's will be free, so long as they are not excessive.
Animated props: IE props that have moving parts, rigs, etc. That I do not have premade assets of start at $15
-Backgrounds-
Basic backgrounds that can be painted and imported will be free of charge.
-Complex backgrounds start at $10
-Interactive/animated backgrounds start at $30
