I was able to use boosty with Paypal successfully and without a hitch, though it did not seem to work for my Mastercard. Was only a few clicks to create an account through my Google. So far there have been no issues, I will update if that changes :)

I've been using Boosty for a week now to pay artists, most of them in Russia and have had no issues.

PayPal still works, at least as of a few days ago. The merchant handling the PayPal transaction is my.com, which appears to be based in the Netherlands, so far as Paypal seems to think.

Boosty does not perform currency conversion: you have to specify your payment in rubles, which means either asking the artist for a price in rubles or performing the conversion yourself. This can result in the artist receiving different sums at different times, I think. Also, Boosty takes a sizable percentage of the transaction from the artist, so this should be accounted for, but I think it isn't much worse than PayPal.

Overall, as a buyer, I have no trouble with Boosty and no concern about using it.

Yes, I can still use PayPal to pay a Boosty transaction. I made a payment yesterday without any issues.

All in all I'd say it's way easier to use than I thought. I could log in with my normal Google account and it let me chose how to pay easily (credit card, PayPal and a few more). Payment was quick and worked out fine.

But I also have two negative points. Firstly (at least for paying with PayPal) I only could pay in rubles. So let's say the artist has their commission prices in USD you have to set an amount in rubles you have to pay. Secondly all emails I got as verification of the payment from boosty was in Russian as well so I had to get it translated first.

None of the negative points are that huge that I wouldn't use boosty but I wanted to point them out any ways ^^

As far as I know, the platform is currently at the stage of testing transfers in USD and EUR. so probably soon our foreign friends won't have to think about conversion)
And I think that as a result of 2022 they will definitely add English to their posts)

I used PayPal to pay and registered with Google, so it was very quick and convenient. Be aware that there is no automatic currency conversion, so the artist will give you a price in roubles.

Overall it's a great way to pay Russian artists and I would recommend it.

Boosty worked well for me. I had troubles initially, none of the payment methods would continue past a loading screen. I solved this by disabling the "Tracking Protection" feature in my browser. If you are having a similar problem, this may be the solution for you :)

I did that, and the loading screen does not move on.

My savior! Had just the spiny circle, had to set "Enhanced Tracking Protection" to "Standard!" (Firefox of course)

From a buyers perspective, it's pretty simple! Can just log in with your google account, do a quick currency conversion and you're off to the races. It's barely an extra step in the payment process.

I registered for Boosty with Facebook and was able to pay with PayPal without any problems. A bit grimly ironic, really!

Even tho i was somewhat confused about the layout at first, I was able to successfully pay my due with PayPal! It is really easy once everything cooperates and shows up! Other then that, paying wasn't much of a hastle!

So, there is a lot more to type out than not, but to sum it up, the traffic from boosty got flagged by my bank instantly, the transaction info was in russian and the ruble transfer caught there attention is my guess.

there were only two charges actually processed. A zero ruble charge, and the first 200 ruble charge. the rest were put as pending and I'm fairly certain my bank just kept denying them. I woke up and my assets were frozen, and the transaction history was gone. that hasn't happened since I signed up in 2015.

should clarify too, I tried using both PayPal and my card after the I initial issue. just going to copy paste from a chat I just had that pointed me to talk about it here

-So I noticed that boosty had a small change to the GUI that labeled cards as russian and not russian. My assumption is there is some sort of flag in the system that shows it as traffic between the two.

Of course, it could be the exchange to rubles too that is getting traffic blocked after the first purchase. That would explain why I had to call a representative instead of clicking a button on my notification.

Last night the transactions were all pending, money hadn't left my account, but they showed that it just needed to be processed. This morning all of that activity was gone from my transaction list, which has never happened before and I've been a customer since 2015, so im extremely familiar with how the system works, and I can not withdraw, move, or send money in either bank accounts. I'm pretty sure my assets may have been completely frozen after I kept trying yesterday.

The website itself would keep saying there was an error, and only two charges came from it. A zero ruble charge to my account that just got put into an auto payment or a subscription payment, and the first charge. The rest were originally flagged as "pending"-

I think many of you already know very well that Boosty has become our only salvation for receiving payment for orders, so it has a large load and many errors appear. many do not pass the payment, but after a while everything works out. You just need to give the application time and everything will be fine!

I've used boosty twice so far, both times the process seemed quite smooth on my end. I'm glad for an option to continue using paypal to support artists as my bank tends to flag purchases via my card (which has not happened with boosty so far)
The only thing I noted is that boosty tends to send some emails in Russian, which is not a big deal considering nowadays we have many accessible translation options, but something to be aware of for english speaking customers.
Overall it's a very easy platform to set up and use in my experience, and looking up rouble conversion has been fairly simple.

I've used it several times now with no issues for a variety of different artists/amounts, all through paypal. It's relatively smooth and artists have all been going out of their way to provide ruble conversions and sometimes custom posts, which I appreciate tremendously

Boosty is a pretty solid platform especially since you can use paypal to send money through it so there's a extra level of trusted protection. With some simple math you can choose the amount you want to pay and choose whatever option you want to pay. Speaking this is FA i'm sure everyone picked paypal.

I was able to use boosty with my PayPal account no problem! Just had to make an account and could make a purchase without any issues.

The only thing is you might wanna do the conversion math for how much you pay in ruples. if you don’t know that (which I don’t) just google the ruples amount in whatever currency you use to know how much you transfer beforehand!

I was able to use boosty whitout any problem to pay whit my paypal account as donation for artist.
Only think that i did not like is that for creating account you need to use one of your existing account or phone number. But otherwise it was smooth sailing :) Recommend it to anyone :)

Just used Boosty for the first time. It was a little glitchy getting the payment method to go through initially, but I think it was a problem with Firefox (I may also need a browser update on that end, still investigating). It was a breeze sending payment when I opened a chrome tab, however.

I've only used it a handful of times, but:

As a Google user logging in was as simple as with any other platform,
And payment with my chosen platform (Paypal) was equally as simple.

And for the pricing in Rubles vs another currency, I can see there being potential issues if either the payer or payee mismanages the conversion. In my experience the post had already been converted as an OTP (One-time-payment) of the ruble equivalent of the art, so there was no real issue in payment besides verifying the amount was correct.

Overall, I see no real issues with the platform as a whole considering everything ^U^

Heyo, I have been looking for solutions for my foreign Russian artists who I happened to befriend and talk to on the daily about life. Boosty is something that is honestly the only method of payment I found that works and doesn’t make me nervous. I’ll give the run down for American my American neighbors, and friends across the seas, or even those who stand on the same soil as me, just on the other side of the boarder.

1. You do you need to sign in to this. Google accounts work.
2. Put in your payment (in RUB, ask your artist the conversion or you can check yourself on PayPal).
3. Select your payment method (PayPal being our popular choice, ironically we can use it to pay)

Pros:
-It let’s us support artists who have nothing to do with what is going on. And if they’re your online friend and wanted to support them, that’s even better!
-Fast to use.
-Actually works. (I sent money through PayPal and I made sure it took from my balance, I paid for a $45 commission and entered the amount in RUB and only $45~ came out, as it should.)

Cons:
-Putting in the RUB, please be careful not to add an extra number. I haven’t done that, but that’s a worry for me, so make it something you be careful of!

Last note I have to give. You can check the correct conversion rate on PayPal from USD to RUB. I just went to a Russian artist turned friend that I commissioned before and it told me the conversion rate. (Yes you can tap on the account and see, but you can’t send money. I tried when the day PayPal closed)

I hope this helps us keep supporting the artists we love and the friends we made, while removing any worries or concerns you may have. Remember it’s not these citizens fault, and hopefully stuff settles down and we can all live our lives.

Yeah it still works. Just make sure to check the conversion rate on PayPal and also not to put in the incorrect amount. An extra number can equal a lot of money.

Boosty isn‘t really hard to use. You can even pay with paypal. It was kinda buggy in the beginning, where payments didn‘t work but it seems like they fixed it.
The only hook is, that you have to pay in Russian Ruble. But that‘s a minor one.

So far I was able to successfully pay via Boosty with Paypal! although you may want to check your paypal settings before doing anything on the boosty website. beyond that, it works!

this is because the first payment also activates permission for boosty to charge your account automatically upon next payments... meaning, you typing the amount and "Donate" is all you have to do and boosty takes care of the rest

By the way, such a problem can occur when sending large amounts (more than 100 dollars or ~10,000 rubles). we offer customers to divide the payment into parts, creating several transfers. this helps solve the problem.
Also, you can always try paying with a credit card, because that might work.

Today I used Boosty for the first time to purchase from an artist, and it worked fine with using PayPal to pay within Boosty. I had no issues with it, and it feels doable because of that!

Unfortunately I’m not sure where my experience would align; I still haven’t been able to pay my artist through Boosty even though I used the “donate” option and uses PayPal while taking the funds through my bank. I actually got a PayPal email saying I had authorized a payment to My.com but I had a never ending “we are processing, please wait” error screen when on the website. So far this has been a frustrating experience for both me and the artist (who has it much harder, I’m aware) and I’m quite saddened. Hopefully she hears something from customer support about this particular situation.

in fact, the artist community and I are hard at work trying to resolve this issue with tech support.
the main reason is that as a result of sanctions, THOUSANDS of new users came to a small platform, and their system is slow to process our requests. so far this problem is relevant, but, fortunately, it is rare.

So far, we have come up with a solution: send money through an intermediary in which the artist is confident and who is doing well with paying for boosty. I hope it won't be needed soon.

I'm an artist from Russia, this is my first time using "Boosty"

-There were some difficulties during registration, but support from "Boosty" said that this happens and you just need to continue the card registration action again and again and everything will work out. ( I managed )

-"Boosty" is convenient for me! I wish this platform long years and prosperity.

I've only used Boosty a couple of times so far, but both times it was perfectly easy to use. I just pay through PayPal and the artist gets it just fine. The only downside is that you have to manually convert currencies, but it's not the end of the world.

I'm an American that has befriended a lot of artists here on FA and I want to continue to support whenever and wherever I can. Yet my internet provider actively blocks boosty. I've done VPN to work around it and it still errors out. I can't even sign in. I tried different web platforms as well to work around and it just blocks it out. Anyone else having trouble accessing boosty?

Yes, we have received feedback that ISPs may be blocking Boosty.
moreover, sometimes even your bank can block the transfer.
It is easy to solve with the bank - you just need to call the bank and say that it is really you, and not a scammer.
with an Internet provider - alas, only through an intermediary (for now)

The whole problem is that Boosty is a Russian platform, which is not yet very familiar in another countries. But it is in our power to fix this, and make it as legitimate as transfers through Pyoneer or Patreon.

I was a bit disappointed that I had to connect it to my Google to make an account, but it was very easy to use. The artist I commissioned said I would need to change the language and the currency, but somehow it was already on English and Rubles. I used Paypal to send two donations, and the artist received them fairly quickly.

Boosty's been pretty simple and easy for me to use so far, Paypal works easily, and so far i've seen no hiccups.

At first , being an ignorant American, I was a lil confused cuz my dummy self didn’t realize the P currency was in regards to Russian currency and not a completely different one. Aside from that tho boosty was extremely easy, and was even able to use PayPal to sign up oddly enough?
But would recommend anyone to use it when conducting business with Russian artists~ 💙

Have used Boosty a couple times now with zero issues. I usually pay Boosty with PayPal and it's honestly no hassle at all.

I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this yet but;
If using Boosty on mobile, you can -only- use a bank card (which worked fine).
If on desktop, you can do a bank card or PayPal the other payment methods.

I used Boosty to pay for a commission not that long ago and it went smoothly. Was also able to pay with PayPal as well.

Just sent a payment with it myself to an artist I adore, and honestly Im glad to find a way to still support them through this bullshit. It was easy, I could still just use my paypal to make it nice and convenient. Worked well for me.

Just make sure you get the conversion rate right, and other then that, its hella convenient

I'm still a bit wary of using Boosty.to because of unknown elements. I tried making a 200 ruble donation to a Russian artist I know (who had put up a Web page on Boosty) and it seems to have worked well. She got the whole amount, all right. My goal is to pay my next commission to her with Boosty.to, if everything seems safe for larger amounts of money. I spoke about possible computer security issues with my bank. Boosty's Internet name is registered in the Tonga island kingdom (It's the ".to at the end of Boosty.to) and that sounds a bit strange for me. The good people at my bank wiped their hands of any problems I could have. I discovered that Boosty.to is owned by MY.GAMES, a company registered in the Netherlands, and owned in turn by VK.

many artists, bloggers, creative people, animal welfare organizations, cosplayers, streamers have been using Boosty for many years to receive donations from their fans. This platform is really popular in our country and inspires confidence.
Therefore, when sanctions were introduced and PayPal abandoned us, we registered on this platform without hesitation. We already trust this place.

Do you (or anyone here) know how long the Boosty support team takes to answer a call for help after having created an entry with a "ticker number"? After success with my initial test I have known complete failure for a first serious try, and then with several other attempts. I left a call for help on Saturday March 19th and I immediately got an automatic answer telling me I had been given help ticket number X. I wonder when I will get a full answer.

all I know is that Boosty experienced a big influx of artists and other freelancers in March who were looking for alternatives to paypal. before they answered 2-6 hours, now some wait for an answer 2-4 days. but the support is good. I guess they just can't handle that many requests yet and are therefore slower.

I just used it to pay for a commission, and it didn't work for my Paypal. Thankfully I was able to use my debit card.
Overall, relatively simple. A little slow, and a little bit weird, but simple and efficient.

Used it for the first time now and literally had 0 issues with the payment going through (Paypal), great alternative for all that are affected by the current crisis and definitely recommended <3

I’ve been trying to pay using Boosty (well, Paypal through Boosty). I keep getting nowhere. The artist had the post to buy, and I just got a spinning wheel for about 10 minutes. I tried again and got nowhere after another 10 minutes. I’m now trying to donate half the amount (and the other half later, I guess), and see if waiting an hour gets me anywhere. Is this just the “give it time due to high traffic” thing I’ve seen above? Did I just pick the wrong time of day and I need to wait a few hours?

I compiled a short course on dealing with payment problems:
- check if there is money on a bank card that is linked to paypal
- if you are using FireFox browser, try using GoogleChrome
- disable firewall
- open tab in incognito mode
- change phone/computer device
- change the payment method donat/post
- if the amount is large and you forgot to divide it by 100 usd - divide it into several small donations
- if paypal fails, try a credit card
- with a credit card, the probability of error is less than with a debit
- if the transfer from the bank is blocked - call the bank and confirm that it is you

You've tried all the ways but nothing works
- repeat the payment attempt after 14.00 (Moscow) the next day (suddenly the system is simply overloaded)
- as a last resort, you can ask your friend from another country to be an intermediary, and he will pay for you.

Boosty works reasonably well without any real issues; I have sent a few successful payments through it to a couple of artists.

The only difficulty I have encountered is with the currency conversion, as it appears that different places have different rates. However, reaching out to the artist to ask about the commission price in Rubles can help lessen any chance of issues resulting from sending the wrong amounts.

Overall though, it works pretty well as a PayPal alternative.

Been using Boosty for about a week now to pay a few artists, especially on ych, but so far everything's been alright! My only issue is with the conversion, I'm always worried I do something wrong and I won't pay the right amount but that's just me! I always get nervous even with USD.

I created my boosty account using my mobile number and have paid a few artists on boosty through paypal.

I did notice my firefox "strict" profile was blocking some payment URLs, but using a chromium derivative worked fine. (I use ungoogled chromium but others like google chrome, microsoft edge, vivaldi, brave, etc. should also work)

I've used Boosty once so far. It was simple and fairly streamlined. I didn't experience any problems with it. Signing in through my PayPal account worked well. I'm willing to use it again.

Only 3 things I have noticed so far

1. The limit seems to be 10 000 RUB, idk if this is across the board or not but it will always stop me if I try to do more at once
2. If you have to do multiple payments it might stop working for a few hours, don't know why this happens exactly
3. Make sure you do the exchange rate through PayPal and not Google, Google gives a different rate and PayPal will of course give the most accurate since that's what will be charged against you

Hey! I can clarify your observations:

1. in fact, the limit is 100 thousand rubles. but due to the sanctions, many freelancers have signed up with Boosty, and the system is having a hard time coping with the large influx of people. According to our observations, yet the probability of an error in the transfer is minimal if the amount is ~10,000 rubles. this is a temporary solution, I think that in 1-2 months the platform will solve the problem with the load and it will not be necessary to divide payments into parts.
2. We, unfortunately, do not know either, and right now we continue to test the platform and contact technical support. unfortunately, the situation in the world requires patience from all of us.
3. absolutely true! but, again, no one will blame you (customers), Russian artists themselves are shocked by how much the ruble exchange rate began to differ. Just a week ago, the PayPal and Google exchange rates differed by 1-5 rubles, but now these numbers may be higher. believe me, we are also very worried, and do not want to be overpaid by accident.
(Personally, as a solution, I settled on 1 usd ~ 100 rubles, but I ask my customers to check in the currency converter. And I am pleased with the support of foreigners when they agree with this.)

I donated with boosty, absolutely easy. I clicked like just a few times to make account with Google then send money with PayPal.

Boosty is easy to use and sign up for. I greatly appreciate the service, since I use it to pay artists that aren't able to receive through Paypal. As of this writing, users can still donate through the service using their Paypal, which makes handling the process very quick.

The only complaint I have is the need to have conversion amounts done before the process, but that is a very small thing that isn't enough of a problem to be a no-go for the service. I wholly trust Boosty.

Using Boosty was straightforward. PayPal worked fine but I couldn't pay directly through my debit card.

I've used Boosty with several artists and it works. I use it on the Opera GX browser on my laptop and Google Chrome browser on my smartphone. However as some have stated here there are a few things to keep in mind

1. Paying via Mastercard/Visa doesn't work, you have to pay using the Paypal option

2. If you're paying for something that is over 20000 RUB, you will have to send multiple payments. I.E if I wanted to pay 50000 RUB total, I would have to make 3 payments. 2 of 20000 RUB and 1 of 10000 RUB

3. Sometimes making more than 2-3 consecutive payments via Paypal causes Paypal to freak out a bit. You will get an error message on Boosty stating that they encounted an issue with the payment method. The way I got around this is by making 2 back to back payments and then waiting about 30 minutes - 1 hour to make the rest

4. Use Paypal conversion rates... don't use the one on Google unless you intentionally want to tip your artist(s) without either of you knowing how much xD

I just had my first experience with Boosty to pay for something.

For me, it was somewhat frustrating.

1. With Firefox, selecting either the credit card or PayPal options just resulted in nothing loading.
2. I tried Safari, and that would semi-work. I would be able to send a payment of 10,000 RUB and then whenever I would attempt to send the next, I would just get a message that "something went wrong; try again"
3. I was able to make another instalment a little later, but then things went back to the "something went wrong"
4. This morning I tried again, and after one "something went wrong", it then worked.

I had a bit of difficulty using Firefox, but switching to Chrome helped immediately.

Just as easy as using paypal, just log in with your google account, convert the currency and you are mint as, no issues at all!

Hello, I have a problem with you. You see a close friend of mine has been using this too get funds. I tried all day to send her funds for food because she is starving for 5 days now. How dare you not work when your needed most. I even went as low as 10 dollars. And you still can process that, talk about pathetic. I used this service for the first time twice now. it's not sketchy as I had used PayPal with it.

The only thing to note about the service is that payment is labeled as Donations. If for whatever reason there was a dispute between you and the artist, Paypal would not be able to issue you a refund due to this under the protection that you had with using only Paypal. If that is not a big concern to you then you have nothing to worry about.

I've gotten some stuff paying with boosty through PayPal from other artists and I've had issues with one where I sent the money and it came out of my bank account linked to my PayPal but the artists never actually got the money so it drew it and then the money somehow disappeared

I've gotten stuff from people on there since tho at first I was hesitant as it was my first time using it that the issues happened and the other times I haven't had any issues like that

I was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences and if so how did they get the problem fixed and get the money to the artists or whoever they were sending it too

(Although there's a text "If you hold a balance with PayPal, we’ll use it first." - but still can't find to pay with Balance)

I just wanted to leave feedback saying that Boosty was super easy to use. I've had very few issues so far, and set up was easy.

Only problem I've ran into was submitting two payments back to back, my bank blocked the second charge. But that was no issue on Boosty's side

Boosty was easy to use, I commissioned one of my favorite artists and it was easy to pay them with this service through PayPal.

Took less than 30 seconds to sign up and pay, very simple and secure.

Brazilian PayPal has discontinued the currency conversion system in 2019 and it doesn't allow for direct payments via PayPal balance, which means we're stuck with international cards using PayPal as just an intermediary.

Bringing that to my context: I have not been able to make back-to-back payments using credit cards for an expensive commission, even if I try batches of 10 000 - every second attempt fails and it looks like the artist is stuck with having to wait weeks until they get the full payment, which deviates from their rules. I call my bank, they tell me to use a different card; I try a different card, call them again, they tell me to wait another week until they find a solution to my problem (I suspect the bank is simply blocking back-to-back transactions, but they're not being clear about it). And at this very moment, I'm contacting Boosty Support to check if there is anything on their end.

This has been going on for a while now. I'm sorry for any other Brazilian client if they're experiencing the same issue with back-to-back payments here, and I'm sorry for the Russian artists that have been experiencing trouble after being forced to find alternatives.

Took me a while, but I think I have figured it out. I just have to wait until they charge the IOF on each transaction, which seems to take 2 days on my end, before doing the next payment. Not Boosty's fault

it no longer works for me, trying to send 49500 rubles but all i keep getting is "something went wrong"

Try transferring a smaller fee first, like 40,000, and then the remaining amount of 9,500. We found that resolved the issue for us when sending a similar amount.

Anyone else here a little bug-eyed by the 10% fee Boosty now takes out of each transfer as of April 14 2022?
This service was very promising up until then, because a 10% gouge is nothing to sneeze at for the Russian user. Anyone find any favorable alternatives yet?

Have you tried logging out of your Boosty account and logging back in through a different means (like through Google rather rather VK).. and/or log in/out of the PayPal account your using AND/or send money in smaller batches.

I love boosty its just the fee on using boosty it gives you is a chonker in your account~!

When Boosty was first being used for transactions for Russian artists I could pay without a problem, it was so easy! But now I've been having issues with it just saying "something went wrong". It's super frustrating, especially when my bf was able to pay when I couldn't! It sucks :<

Hello, this is an intermittent problem with Busty, usually resolves itself if you wait a while. Perhaps this is due to the overload of the servers of Busty himself. In any case, it is worth trying to pay after a while, this usually helped. You can try "link a new paypal account", while entering the same paypal address, sometimes this also works. I hope this helps you in the future~

I have a concern I'm not seeing addressed in the comments. People talking about needing to disable tracking protection and linking a google account. For those of us that find that unacceptable, are there other ways to pay artists? (don't say crypto lol)

Hey! unfortunately, this is only necessary because boosty does not work properly with some browsers, but the platform promises to solve this problem in the future.
you need to learn about other methods personally from the authors. someone has alternatives, but for someone (for example, me) nothing but boost is available.

Well I guess I won't be able to commission any Russian artists until this is addressed then, or until they lift the sanctions. That really sucks. Forcing people to turn off tracking protection and sign into a google account isn't cool.

I notice that when i first started using boosty, i accidently made myself a creator. I put my card info into a section called "Withdrawal method". It even has a whole sections of the amount that can be min. withdrawal or max withdrawal. Now every time I go and try to purchase something, it just denies my paypal or card info. Could this be the problem?

as we found out, the method of withdrawing money and the method of payment are NOT RELATED to each other.
if no one donates you to boosty, just delete the withdrawal method and link only the payment method.

How do I remove it? There's no way I can. But since. No one has donated, I'll just leave it alone

I like using Boosty when it works. Sometimes either a hiccup between it and Paypal happens but usually clears itself out in a matter of hours or a day when it comes to using one of my cards.

I am not sure what fees happen but I do try to pay over the requested amount.

It sucks that certain companies are punishing innocent citizens for a military action, from easy payments to getting a burger, it sickens me.

I am just glad something like this exists as a workaround so those that I work with can get their money.

the artist loses at least 10% of the requested amount, so some of us raised prices a little. the situation is really difficult, but we are glad that there is at least such a way to continue to draw for you.

Huge PSA to everyone who uses Boosty, ALWAYS check the conversion rate. You might think it only minimally changes but I accidentally paid almost twice the amount because I didn't check it once right before paying. Super important because I don't think many people realize how drastically this can fluctuate!

I was able to use Boosty. I had issues with getting stuck on the spinner. But after disabling the advanced tracking stuff people mention above, and also breaking the transaction down into 2 separate donations, it finnally worked. I'm not sure what the limit Paypal denies it at but 7,800 Rubles or 135$usd (at this time) worked fine.

The platform has not officially confirmed this information, however, I hope that these are temporary inconveniences.

I was able to use boosty with credit card (7110RUB) successfully but only once. after that i couldn't pay any other artists anymore... and yes i checked my bank account multiple times i have lot of money there.
i'm not using paypal (my account there is currently unavaiable since they want more private infos of my bank account... i don't see the need to show them)

I was able to use Boosty to some issue lol a direct link to the person I was trying to reach could not be reached directly but I could reach it by clicking back to the last page, it was a rather funny set of hoops wish I could have searched for the person but I could not seem to find any such function.

Side note make sure you add your area code to your phone number hahah I was stumped why my cell number was having a lot of issue hahah.

I'm unfortunately not having a great time using Boosty. It was easy to set up and seems simple but it doesn't want to take my money. It doesn't even appear to attempt to check my Debit card when adding it as payment or making donations with it, it thinks for a second before giving me an error and telling me to try again. I tried PayPal (even set my currency as Rubble) and when I get through to it I get hit with the endlessly loading circle. I tried splitting the payment, trying different browsers, trying my phone, trying incognito mode, it does the same thing for both methods.

At this point the only thing I can think of to do is wait and try again later but that doesn't seem like a guaranteed fix.

9 months later update, this issue still persists to this day. It doesn't seem like any attempts to fix the issue have even been attempted. Everything always gets stuck in endless loading and times out eventually. This has been one of the more infuriating systems to deal with as there are several artists I'd love to buy art from but the system literally won't let me pay them.

I've had the same issue. Somehow Chrome would not let me, but Edge did. I couldn't proceed further because of an unrelated issue with my bank so I had someone else pay for me, but I hope this can help you if you ever decide to try again.

Nope, Edge didn’t work for me did that as one of my first trouble shoots. The system just refuses all my options no matter where I try to pay.

Always need a 3rd party to do it.

For anyone having the "a technical error had occurred" message just hit the "add new e-wallet" button and enter the same PayPal adress youre trying to use. it went through immediately for me.

It's absolutely fine. No hassle like at all, You can log in to boosty using Google and pay using PayPal. Took me 2 minutes.

Using Boosty was not so difficult, I was linked to a guide and followed easily. Unfortunately
the conversion rate is not calculated for you, no invoices to track orders and payments are in rubles which causes monthly payments to change in price as the conversion rate fluctuates. Paying a large amount or multiple small amounts proved to be an issue at times. The actual cost fluctuating, the extra attention required, and the translation needed aren't positives but I will take the extra steps for artists I trust.

Convincing people to take the first step and actually register is going to be the most challenging hurdle as being inconvenient and unfamiliar are big turn-offs for consumers which is out of your control. I have had an overall positive experience with Boosty and would greatly recommend it's use to others.

I've used Boosty a few times now, and there are two very important things that ought to be rectified:

1. Clarity of conversion,
2. Potential to rectify mistakes.

1. Any artist I commission that uses Boosty, I request the use of the Paypal Currency Calculator, as it provides accurate information on how much I'm going to be charged upon sending.

2. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I can see mistakes happening where two extra zeros could be easily added for those unfamiliar with RUB. I don't know how easy it is to request a refund on Boosty but it should be made clearer.

integrates well with paypal options and allows quick use of your google account to make an account with them, super easy and glad its a simple, secure way to support the artists that cant use paypal for whatever reason

I have been using Boosty for several months now. Since the beginning of the war. Well, almost. The repercussions took place a week later... But no matter.
The platform was not reliable, had bad ratings, bad reviews. It didn't make you want to use it...
One month later, I even had a payment problem. And again shortly after, the artists told me that they had received the transfer, while I had an error...
It was not pleasant and it gave even less confidence.


But after four months I changed my mind because I haven't had any problems for at least two months, and everything is going very well.
If Boosty wants to live on after all this crap is behind us (I'm talking about the war and the restrictions), I think a little less bank fees could allow the platform to supplant PayPal.
I'll gladly use Boosty in the future, even after PP comes back, if they have less fees, that's a certainty.

Thank you Boosty for being there for the artists. Thank you for not letting them down.

I cannot get Boosty to work whatsoever. I have tried everything aside from a credit card (since I do not have one) and waiting for the reset time. Will try tomorrow and hope it works.

alternatively, you can split the payment into several smaller payments or ask your friend from another country to pay.

I don't have anyone else who could be a mediator for it. The commission is actually only 10 USD worth and I can't even get that sent in properly.

paypal has worked with me with some instances of it not working but have worked around it

normally don't have issues converting USD to rubbles but I believe there are ways to improve on converting currency to make things easier and more precise

so far my experience has been good my only issue is I sometimes worry I'm over or under paying but overall it is a good platform for artists I believe

I used Boosty now several times. Always used my PP account to pay and Google to login.
And everything works perfectly

I've tried to use Boosty twice now, once yesterday and once today but both times it got stuck on processing right after going through the PayPal payment process. Nothing has happened both times outside of a single message from my bank letting me know about a possible fraud charge that I promptly told them it was alright.

Pretty much. The payment is just $25 so not big, my account has money, I'm using Chrome, I've tried different devices, I've tried using my bank and card in Paypal, and I received a message from my bank saying fraud and said it wasn't.
Although I'm gonna see if I can get an intermediary.

I used boosty to pay for a few things, no issues whatsoever.
Haven't tried the subscriptions yet though.

no, it's not a boosty problem, it's a conversion problem.
since the exchange rate is currently unstable, it is better to clarify the amount with the artist before transferring.

The amount you have to pay must be calculated at the PayPal exchange rate. Many artists use a different exchange rate, which is much higher than the PayPal.
Ask them to calculate the exact amount at the PayPal exchange rate and not use what they see in the search engine.

Using Paypal through Boosty has had no issue for me, I have used it several times now — my card did not want to connect directly to the site, but Paypal takes from my card anyways, so it is no problem. I trust this site and there has been no suspicious activity or errors.
I have not had to disable my privacy/tracker add-ons to use this site, but that may solve issues if you encounter errors, as they cause many issues for me on some websites.

Glad to be able to support Russian artists at this time, because it is ridiculous to take away the income of citizens who have no ability to change the country's politics.

Any fellow Americans or anyone trying to pay with PayPal having issues! A fix that has worked for me but requires some pre-planning or communication with artists is keeping a balance with PayPal!
Keeping a balance with PayPal has made it much easier to use Boosty. Previously, nothing would work. It would either give an infinite loop for verification, or outright deny the transaction immediately.
I then tried transferring the required funds to my paypal balance, and after that went through, I was able to re-try the PayPal option on boosty and it worked right away!

Hope this is able to help anyone, commissioners and artists alike!

It looks like a perfectly functional site, until I accidentaly paid twice.

Now the artist herself was kind enough to send it back no problem, but I had to setup a Boosty account and now I can't for the life of me figure out how to withdraw the funds from there to my Paypal or bank account. Checked every nooks and cranies to no avail.

The bank account should link without problems. you just need to enter his data and just wait, within five days the money will be withdrawn to your account.

Well it got withdraw, the 5-days delay is a strange policy and I didn't quite grasped it at first, but that might have to do with the fact that I'm not a native english speaker.

I've just had that happen to me. Is getting it "refunded" through Boosty the only way?

While I have the means to trust this app. My bank on the other hand is saying otherwise. I’ve tried using my visa to help pay an artist, and my bank froze all my assets because Russia is under international sanctions. I’ve contacted loss prevention about it and they say that sending my money to Russia right now can be considered an act of high treason with the sanctions in place.

I’m not sure if I can use my PayPal with pre loaded funds either, I just get a perpetual loading wheel on the payment app itself and it never goes through.

I use boosty for a while now and barely had any issues, only one (which is minor) is you gotta convert the Rubles but like I said, minor!

Sometimes you must split the money. If you want send $200 so you send 2 x $100 or so, sometime it works. Sometimes you must re-state your paypal (add a new wallet).

I pay often with Boosty. Sometimes it works immediately and sometimes it don`t accept PayPal or Creditcard. Sometimes that depends on the day, Wednesday it don`t works and Thursday it works with the same Account or Cards. The best is sometimes my german Creditcard doesn`t work, but the austrian... its the same Bank. xD

The Support from Boosty are terrible. Your PayPal doesn`t work? Try again, try with an other Browser or go die. Sure, i`m an IT Technican, as if I hadn't tried that already.
Sometimes you need a little patience (a little hint with the fence post to the Artists), but in the end it works.

I just used Boosty to pay an artist. I logged in easily with Google, found the donation option, entered the amount, and sent. The first payment with paypal failed (too big) but when I split it into two it worked, one with card and one with paypal, both in usd.

However, while my bank shows the transactions, the artist has not received the funds. Does it take some time for the money to move? Or (most likely lol) was it an operator issue?

I can not get the payment to go through on the website. It never charged me thankfully! But I had to use some other app to pay the artist. I think it's just a re-occuring issue with boosty unfortunately :\ definitely a scary one too

Boosty used to work perfectly fine like two years ago. I think its cause of the sanctions at this point, just to confirm did you try paying through visa or Mastercard as I saw in some other replies about visa working

Lately I have been having an issue with Boosty regarding being unable to log into the website to actually pay for services. It is a strange log in loop where you click on login, click gmail or any other option, a window will appear before closing itself before I can enter my password. One artist I paid 50 dollars to never received the money and instead it went to "My Games BV"

I use google chrome, ive also tried other browsers, disabling anti virus and adbloc, but none of those produced any difference.

recently the administration of Boosty wrote about the failure. the money went right, mygames is the boosty.
check if the artist has received the money now. if not, he should write to the support service, because his money is probably delayed in the system.

Different people in different amounts. I had gotten scammed, requested refund through Paypal since I used Paypal on Boosty. Account got locked and then unlocked but after it got unlocked, I still couldn't send money in any way, even when artist used the direct posting like for YCH that was bought or through donation pool. No method worked.

I even tried new email with same Paypal but it still didn't work.

Hello there. I wonder if someone else has the issue I'm having now. So, Paypal is temporarily unavailable at this moment I'm writing and I wanted to update my payment method.
Except... it doesn't work. Even after trying five times, even after trying both in Firefox and Chrome, even after trying in a private window or incognito mode. My bank account isn't the problem, and 3D secure isn't the problem. My issue is when I want to add the credit card to my profile, I'm debited the expected $0.10 at each attempt (no problem billing you the money at this point). The thing is, despite getting the "Thanks! The new payment method can be used for purchases or renewals of current active subscriptions." message at the end of the process, my profile still blurts out "No payment method added". The new payment method flat-out won't appear. And the best part is that's it's reproducible at will! This is now the sixth time I've tried!!!

I have no idea of what is going on here. I don't think I'm at fault here. As I can't seem to find any sort of technical support, I'm posting here as that's what my searches have lead me through. I hope someone has an explanation of what's happening in my case, and perhaps a possible solution.

Too bad I can't edit and am forced to reply to my own comment. I solved my issue by tipping a creator, as suggested by their support during an email conversation with them. Once I sent the tip, the card I tried to link (and another one I used as a test which seemingly "didn't work" before) magically appeared in my profile.

So, to anyone having the same issue (if there are any), try to tip a creator and see if your credit card is finally linked.
