Forest Leisure Sports

Forest leisure sports are adventurous activities that relieve mental and physical stress; train the mind and body while being in a forest environment; and improve quality of life through self-growth and the pursuit of happiness.

The Forest Culture and Leisure Act stipulates the types of forest leisure sports as mountain horseback riding, mountain biking, hang-gliding and paragliding, mountain skiing, mountain marathon running, orienteering and rock climbing.

Since forest leisure sports use the already formed forest environment, the environmental burden is very low compared to other leisure sports. Therefore, it has a positive effect of preserving and efficiently using forest resources.

The Regulations on the Installation, Operation, and Management of Forest Leisure Facilities (Ordinance No. 1497) was enacted in 2021 in response to the growing public demand for forest leisure sports, and also to safely create and manage related facilities.
