It is a fairly typical Portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a yellow over green quarterly field.

The arms have a 4-towered mural crown, a scroll reading "VILA DE ALVAIÁZERE" and a silver shield charged with a green tree and 12 couped green saltires on the bordure.

Alvaiázere is a town in the district of Leiria and old province and future region of Beira Litoral. The municipality is a 161 km² territory divided into 7 communes, inhabited by less than 9500 people.
