We have a robust Abuse Handling process in place to ensure that our services are not used for malicious or illegal activities. This page outlines the types of abuse we handle, how to report abuse, and how we process abuse requests.
Types of Abuse
You can report any activities that goes against our Terms of Services such as:
- Brute force attacks: Repeated attempts to gain unauthorized access to an account or system.
- Security issues: Vulnerabilities or weaknesses in a system that can be exploited by an attacker.
- Malware: Software designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to a system.
- Spam: Unsolicited bulk email messages.
- Botnets: Networks of compromised computers that can be controlled remotely and used for malicious purposes.
- Phishing content: Websites or emails that attempt to trick users into divulging sensitive information.
- Illegal content hosting: Storing or distributing material that is illegal or infringes on the rights of others.
Note: If the content issue involves a well-identified hosting party, such as an online platform, the complaint should be directed there.
Reporting Abuse
If you suspect that our services are being used for any of the above types of abuse, please report it to us immediately by emailing [email protected]. To help us investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible, please include the following information in your report:
- The IP address of the offending party.
- The precise date and time of the abuse.
- The type of abuse.
- Any evidence of the abuse you are able to provide, such as screenshots or log files.
Abuse Request Processing
We use a semi-automated process to identify offending parties and take appropriate action. Depending on the severity of the abuse, this action can range from a simple notification to the offending party up to an account suspension. In all cases, we will work to resolve the issue as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Judiciary Assistance
Foreign authorities should be directed to using the judiciary assistance in place between their country and Switzerland.
Digital Services Act Compliance
As per Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (also known as the Digital Services Act), EU Member States’ authorities, the Commission and the Board can contact Exoscale through [email protected].
