Princess Luna Appears for Fighting is Magic

It's no secret that once something is online, it's typically impossible to stop. Fighting is Magic may have gotten the axe from Hasbro back in the day, but various fans have kept the project alive over the years with mods and spinoffs of the original. Apparently one of them decided to go all-in on a fully playable Princess Luna, Season 1 style.

The Making of Them's Fightin Herds and Mane6 - in Documentary Form

A fighting game documentary and reporting channel over on Youtube has done an in-depth look at all things Mane6, covering the history of Fighting is Magic and their shift into Them's Fightin Herds once the cease and desist hit. They interview people from the actual game, along with Lauren Faust herself!

Awful Week for Fighting is Magic Modders - MEGA Gets a C&D From Hasbro

After 2 years of hacking away at the original source code for Fighting is Magic, with completed mane 6 and Trixie being added, the lead developer behind the variant version MEGA has received the unfortunate cease and desist email from Hasbro. He released a video announcing the news yesterday over on the official channel for the project.

Quite a few others are still out there trucking along, but a lot of people were looking forward to the continued updates from this one in particular due to how complete everything was looking. Here's hoping the legacy lives on elsewhere!

Another Interesting Fighting is Magic Project Underway - Supremium

Since we are on the Fighting is Magic kick lately with that annoucnement the other day, another one has come in with a release date set for the 15th of December. This one adds:

• New stages
• Revamped and balanced mechanics for tournament viability
• The full completed mane cast with supers
• New characters, including Trixie and Big Mac in the trailer 
• And more

Mane 6 Still Trucking Along on New Fighting Game - Screenshots, Videos, and More Soon!

It seems like forever since we last posted up anything about Mane 6 and their currently-in-development fighting game.

For those that haven't been following it over the last few years, Fighting is Magic was taken down by Hasbro's legal department two years ago, which lead to the team over at Mane6 ditching the direct pony and instead hopping in with Lauren Faust herself to create brand new hooved characters for the game.

It has been pretty silent after their last update, but over on Facebook, Mane 6 has revealed that they are very much still in progress, and after one more engine addition, they plan on blasting us with all sorts of screenshots, art, and videos.

I for one can't wait. Ponies or not, anything relating to the awesomeness that was Fighting is Magic will surely be something to follow.
