At their meeting in May 2013, Presidents Enrique Peña Nieto and Barack Obama committed to strengthening economic ties between Mexico and the United States. They announced the High Level Economic Dialogue (HLED), whose goal is to promote competitiveness and connectivity, foster economic growth and innovation, and build a partnership for global leadership. Shortly after this announcement, the U.S. Department of State and the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INADEM) launched the Mexico-U.S. Entrepreneurship and Innovation Council (MUSEIC, or “The Council”), a unique new partnership that aims to enhance regional competitiveness by strengthening the North American high-impact entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Marcus Dantus, businessman and investor shark of the Sony Channel program Shark Tank Mexico, and the online education platform Crehana, presented a new course that seeks to develop the skills of entrepreneurs to define, synthesize and transmit an idea to investors or higher ranks in a company. The course will be available from June 30, 2021 under the name, “ Attract and convince investors with Marcus Dantus”.

    Marcus Dantus

    Founder & CEO

    He currently leads Startup México, the most ambitious program to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Mexico. Marcus is a managing partner of the seed fund investing firm Dux Capital; he also directs the Angel Labs program in Latin America and the Global Entrepreneurship Network representing Mexico. He offers advice and makes specific investments on the TV show Shark Tank Mexico. Previously, he founded and directed Wayra México, Telefónica’s startup accelerator, mainly focused on Internet and Communications businesses.

    He has been the founder and CEO of several companies in the past, including Latin American, Telecom, Mexico.com, Simitel, Peerant, Innovamédica and Abdeo Medical, among others. Marcus is regularly invited to teach entrepreneurship and innovation at IPADE. He has also been the coordinator of Internet Business Master at ISDI since its foundation. He is professor of innovation at the Disruptive Business Academy (DBA) and has founded the Entrepreneur Center of CENTRO, a distinguish college of design and television in Mexico.

    He also gives talks to other academic institutions such as Anáhuac, Ibero, TEC, UVM, UNAM, UAM, Politécnico, among others. He has won several entrepreneurship and innovation awards, including the Endeavor Dedication Award in 2003 (first edition) and the Intel Technology Award in 2004 with Simitel and in 2008 with Innovamédica.

    He was a member of the Mexico-US Entrepreneurship and Innovation Council (MUSEIC) and participated in the Mexico-France Council for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (COMFEI). In addition, he is a member of the Intersectoral Council for Innovation and president of the Gifted Citizen event in Ciudad de las Ideas. He is a Bachelor of Computer Science at ITESM and a B.A. in Communications from the University of Pennsylvania.
