Andrew Maxwell is an Irish stand-up comedian known to audiences across these islands for narrating the MTV reality series Ex On The Beach.

Maxwell's comedy career began in 1992 at The Comedy Cellar at The International Bar in Dublin, Ireland. This led to a number of regular appearances on BBC Two's Sunday Show, and soon he was featuring on British comedy television shows such as Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Mock The Week.

In 2004 he won Channel 4's short-lived reality show Kings Of Comedy, hosted by Russell Brand, which pitted old and new member of the comedy industry against each other. In [y[]2007[/y] he was nominated for the if.comedy award for the best show at the Edinburgh Fringe.

In October 2018, Maxwell made a special appearance in the Irish episode of the HISTORY channel series Al Murray; Why Does Everyone Hate The English alongside host Al Murray.

Maxwell is recognisable as the voice of MTV's hit show Ex On The Beach, which has run for nine series, and on BBC Radio 4 a the host of Andrew Maxwell's Public Enemies, a stand-up show involving topics as varied as The Food Industry, The Internet, The Drugs Trade and Nationalists, and as a regular on The News Quiz.

Maxwell regularly hosts his own weekly late-night comedy gig entitled Fullmooners, which mainly takes place in London but also tours across the UK and features at festivals including Edinburgh. Moreover, he is a founder member of Altitude Comedy Festival, staged in the Alps. Maxwell is also a victor on Celebrity Mastermind, with a specialist subject of Lebanon (which he knew nothing about 6 months before the recording).

In 2019 Maxwell went viral for a joke about the Irish Border and Brexit, helpfully pointing out that "Number one, it's not the Irish border, it's the British border in Ireland. The Irish border is the beach,"
