We welcome our community to use CNCF brand assets.
Consistent use of our design patterns, logos, and other assets helps people easily identify CNCF-branded properties and protects our trademarks. It is important that marketing materials comply with these standards and use assets correctly. Please note that any and all use of CNCF’s trademarks must comply with Linux Foundation’s Trademark Usage Guidelines in addition to these visual branding guidelines.
Logo
Our logo is our flag. It represents us as an organization, the amazing people who work here, the open source communities we collaborate with and the members who support us. It is important that it is always used the right way so that people are able to identify us at a glance.
Primary logo
This is our primary logo and should be used wherever possible.
Secondary logo
The secondary logo is used for CNCF events and large format collateral.
Variations
In the instance where the full-color logo can not be used, there are two variations available.
Logo Usage – Dos and Don’ts
We rather like our CNCF logo, so please don’t change it! Here are some hints for how to display the CNCF logo and guidelines for what is and is not acceptable.
Spacing
Always preserve clear space around the CNCF logo. It is required to provide clarity and breathing room.
COLOR
Changing the logo color is strictly not permitted. The CNCF logo should be used in its full color option or all-black or all-white when required.
ELEMENTS
Changing CNCF logo elements is strictly not permitted.
SCALING
Scaling or stretching the CNCF logo away from its normal proportions is strictly not permitted.
Typeface
The modern, clean look of sans serif font Clarity City represents CNCF’s character. This font has a neutral, bold yet friendly appearance and has a full range of weights and styles that have been optimized for web and mobile.
HEADLINES
Clarity City Bold is typically used for headlines.

Legal
By using CNCF brand materials you agree to the Linux Foundation Terms of Use, the Trademark Usage Guidelines, these CNCF branding guidelines, and all CNCF rules and policies as may be updated from time to time. You also acknowledge that CNCF is the sole owner of CNCF trademarks, promise not to interfere with CNCF’s rights in them, and acknowledge that goodwill derived from their use accrues only to CNCF. CNCF may review use of the branding materials at any time and reserves the right to terminate or modify any use.
In general
For those using CNCF brand materials on a site external to CNCF, please don’t use our name, logos, or screenshots (“brand materials”) in ways that may be confusing, misleading, or suggest our sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation. For example, your name and logo should be more prominent than The Cloud Native Computing Foundation name or logo. And please don’t edit or change the CNCF logo — we like it how it is!
Advertising, promotional, and sales materials
Please check in with us before using our logo on websites, products, packaging, manuals, or for other commercial or product use. It’s ok to say in text “Member of CNCF” or “CNCF Individual Supporter” (as long as it’s true!)
Education and instruction (books, guides, publications, and conferences)
You can use our brand materials for educational and instructional purposes but please remember that it shouldn’t be confusing, misleading, or suggest our sponsorship. For example, we generally don’t allow use of our logos or screenshots on book covers.
Also remember to include this statement (or something like it) in your printed materials: “[Title] is not affiliated with or otherwise sponsored by CNCF.”
Products, websites, names, and logos
Please don’t use our name as a part of your company or service name, website name, trade name, or product name. Don’t use our logo or incorporate our logo into yours. Don’t use a domain name containing “cncf” or any confusingly similar words.
Linking to CNCF
If you want to promote your organizations affiliation with CNCF you can use our logo if it meets our guidelines. For example, “[Company Name] is a member of [linked logo].”
Merchandise
While we do produce lots of t-shirts for our events that have our logo on them, we don’t generally allow third parties to make, sell, or give away anything with our name or logo on it.
Attribution
Please include appropriate attribution of CNCF’s ownership of its trademarks when you use them. This attribution notice can be included in the fine print at the bottom of your content. An example is, “CNCF and the CNCF logo design are registered trademarks of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.”
