The Role

This is HYBRID role based in BostonAbout the Business Development Representative Position

As a Verndale Business Development Representative, you'll be on the front lines playing a key role in generating new business opportunities for the company and be a part of a dynamic, highly motivated sales team.
You will be responsible for booking meetings through cold prospecting and responding to a range of inbound leads. You will uncover the needs of our prospective clients, and hand off the relationship to an Account Executive.
You will learn how to cold call effectively, strategically target new accounts, identify new client opportunities, and discuss the impact of Verndale’s services and expertise. We will provide you with the coaching, tools, and resources to be successful.
Responsibilities

  • Generate interest in Verndale through cold calling, emails, and social outreach
  • Schedule qualified initial discovery calls for Account Executives
  • Meet or exceed daily activity minimums (100 dials, 75 emails)
  • Manage your assigned territory and accounts
  • Vet and listbuild qualified prospects
  • Understand Verndale’s range of capabilities/services
  • Research competitors and trends in the industry
  • Provide constructive feedback to BDR Manager on how to improve effectiveness and efficiency within the BDR role
  • Collaborate with team members to share and learn from best practices


Qualifications 

  • You are located within commutable distance of the Boston Seaport area
  • No prior sales experience needed (although 2 years post-grad work experience of face-to-face customer service, retail, or hospitality, is a plus!)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly coachable and adaptable
  • You take initiative and accountability
  • You are confident, money motivated, with a high degree of resilience, enabling you to bounce back from rejection/setbacks easily
  • Hustle mentality: you strive to grow and develop your skills, and do whatever it takes to meet your goals
  • You think and act quickly
  • Strong interest in digital marketing and user experience
