Situated conveniently in the centre of Takayama, 民宿 和屋 offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and free private parking. We had no complaints. The highlights would be that the host picked us up at the station - which was incredibly nice of him and drove and showed us the property, having in mind we were 5 people; also the location is just perfect - quiet and close to everything :)

People in the town were super welcoming. The property and location were stunning. The staff went above and beyond for us. When Shiho (the staff member who met us at the property found out we were here for our honeymoon, she went and bought us a nice bottle of sparkling sake!

Renovated in 2015, IORI Stay is nestled in Takayama. This traditional Japanese-style townhouse was created in collaboration with local artists and boasts designs with both modern and traditional... Such a memorable stay in the middle of an iconic area. The welcome by the hosts was so warm and we loved the interior design of the space so much. The building g is an ode to Japanese design and featured amazing amenities like a Japanese hinoki wood tub plus local Hida Furniture from Kashiwa.

My stay at this traditional Japanese ryokan was exceptional. The place was impeccably clean, incredibly peaceful, and well-equipped with all necessary amenities.

House is unique and comfortable for 4. Loved the sauna, garage and use of bikes. Location was really good with lovely shop over road that sells amazing cakes and other tasty things.

Located within the Hida Takayama Onsen district in Takayama, 吉祥莊 has air conditioning, a balcony, and mountain views. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The owner had prepared bedrooms specifically for our needs (we were 2 families travelling together), there were 3 bedrooms -not one as advertised!!!! The house was beautiful & felt like a family home in that it had everything we needed with dishes, cooking utensils etc & including little things like plastic ziplock bags for any meal preparation.
