Kagelow Mt.Fuji Hostel Kawaguchiko has been newly renovated in September 2015. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. There are shared bathrooms on the ground floor, and Mt. Everything! The staff were very helpful and nice, loved the atmosphere and waking up to the mt Fuji was the best part!

Right on the shore of the scenic Kawaguchiko Lake, Hotel New Century boasts spacious Japanese-style rooms overlooking the lake and Mount Fuji. We got the room with Mt Fuji and Lake view - which was amazing. The whole experience with authentic Japanese accommodation and dining was incredible. Yes, it is costly but worth the money. The staff were incredibly friendly and they provided a shuttle to and from the station, they can keep your bags at checkout and even deliver them to the station for our scheduled bus departure. You have access to the spring water baths (onsen) which are really comfortable. The food was laid out in traditional style - they accommodate vegetarians too.

Boasting views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi for all rooms and hot-spring baths, Hotel Asafuji provides air-conditioned Japanese-style rooms with a green tea set. Our stay at this hotel was very comfortable and full of amazing services. This three star hotel is leagues above any European 3 star hotels.

The host took great care to ensure that the room was clean and comfortable for us during our stay. Though it was very cold ( 4 degrees) and raining outside, we felt quickly warmed up his hospitality as well as the fireplace placed at the entrance of the building. There was also an air conditioning unit to heat up the air plus floor heating inside our room. The facilities inside helped to keep my teenagers happily occupied the entire evening as we chose to stay indoor due to the rain. Highly recommend this place if you are driving.

The staff were incredibly friendly and picked us up from the train station. He gave us the best food recommendations, advice on the sites to see and made us feel very welcome. You even get a view of Fuji to wake up to on the morning. Can't recommend staying here highly enough.

Boasting a beautiful Japanese garden, Teiensaryo Yamanakako is located just a 2-minute walk from Fujikyu Asahioka Bus Terminal in Yamanakako. Free WiFi access is available in the public area. We spent four days in this beautiful ryokan. This is a typical Japanese hotel with big rooms, futons and veranda space to enjoy the view of the garden. Our host and his family were exceptionally nice and helpful. They tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible (even providing us with coffee in addition to the Japanese breakfast). The owner speaks English and took us by car to see Mt. Fuji from different view points. He was extremely nice and suggested restaurants and other amenities and he even drove us there in a few occasions when it was possible for him. We had a lovely stay and felt like we belonged there. The ryokan is a little old but that adds charm to it. Thanks to all the family for their kindness. If in the area, we would certainly visit this ryokan again.
