I beleive the owners do live there as well, but in a seperate part. The room is big, for Japanese standards, and has everything you'll need. The location is remote, in a small village. There's a great Burger & Café in the center. You cannot miss it when you drive up there. There was a simple breakfast included: toast, fried egg, sausage, bit of fruit and coffee or tea. There were food and drinks in the fridge when I arrived which was a great touch! It is a lovely location in the countryside and there is plenty of nature to explore. The staff went over and beyond to make sure we were comfortable; they drove us to and from locations and even booked restaurants for us when requested. The breakfast was yum, the rooms were absolutely beautiful and the onsen was magical. It was a treat to be right next to the Keith Haring museum which was also fantastic.
