Octant Douro is set in the southern margin of the Douro River, km 41 of the N222 road. It is 10 km from the centre of Castelo de Paiva, 40 km from Porto, 60 km from Porto International Airport and 160 km from the Spanish border. The view from our room was amazing. The staff were amicable and professional. We took the boat tour on the Douro, which was relaxing and scenic. We would definitely go back again to the Octant Douro.

They welcomed us with a drink and showed us around the hotel. It was my husband's birthday, so the hotel made it super special by giving us a nicer room! Also, the staff set up fun things for us to do, like a boat trip and wine tasting at a nearby winery, which I highly recommend! The hotel has an outdoor heated pool and an indoor pool with saunas. Perfect for chilling out. And the breakfast was seriously the best ever – so many tasty choices! To sum it up, this hotel rocks! The staff is awesome, the food is great, and the place itself is just so cool.

Andres was an amazing host and Anna is lovely!! Loved the concept and the wine tasting is highly recommended. The breakfast was great and the room very nice!!

There's really nothing to complain about and the staff (especially Ana and Sarah) are definitely going all the way to make you enjoy your stay. We joined a local wine maker and her team harvesting the grapes and we enjoyed every bit of it. Doing the grape stomping at the end of the day was another enjoyable experience. No commercial tour can beat this, all thanks to the local staff who helped making arrangements. The hotel provides a good breakfast with wonderful views and offers 2 choices for dinner all at a reasonable price.

There are events rooms available. My partner and I were lucky to have the entire hotel and spa for ourselves before a big holiday weekend. The staff is so lovely and made us feel so welcome at at home. The spa was cozy with a sauna, hot jacuzzi and turkish bath, and the staff even filled the entire spa with candles for us. The outdoor pool was cold and perfect for cold dips in the rain (strongly recommend this!). After the spa we had a 3-course dinner with delicious homemade dishes and local wine. The restaurant is like a restaurant / living room with a little bar, pool table, fire place, sofas etc. The facilities were great, we really loved this. Our room was beautiful and with a balcony facing the greenery outside, and you could even hear the stream. To finish off our stay we got an amazing big breakfast, just for the two of us! We really got a 5* treatment here. Loved the location near to Lamego, and yet in a calm place on the countryside. Thank you so much, we will be back!
