Wakayama – vyhľadajte si ryokany

Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. I’m not sure if I can sum up the experience in a few words but here we go: if you are looking to live an authentic experience at Koyasan, Saizenin is without a doubt the best place to do so. For starters, the monks and staff were so friendly and helpful, explaining each step or indication carefully. The person at the front desk spoke amazing English and even German! The rooms are so comfortable and big for Japan size of course. Ours overlooked a small garden and the entrance. One of the things I loved the most was the location, right in front of the temple complex. The food was delicious and had us saying “wow” with each bite. Also, don’t pass on the opportunity to bathe in the classic onsen, so clean and so worth it! I would come back a million times and I would recommend it to everyone I know.

A 1000 year-old Buddhist temple, Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in offers Japanese-style accommodation, a beautiful garden and free WiFi. We loved absolutely everything. We stayed 15 days in Japan and this was our favourite spot by far!

The garden is gorgeous, the monks are incredibly nice and the food was delightful. We also enjoyed the morning ceremony. We only stayed for one night yet we will always cherish this memory. Thank you!

Ubytovanie 宿坊 光明院 sa nachádza v destinácii Kójasan 39 km od miesta Kishi Station a 45 km od miesta Matsushita Park. Truly an experience I’ll never forget. The Monks are all so kind and welcoming. There ceremonies, the food, the history and culture. You feel part of the family and that feeling will stay forever. The entire experience from train to cable rail car, is all part of an experience that is priceless. Nearby sites and the town itself on Mt. Koya are unbelievable.

Set in Shirahama, within 200 metres of Shirahama Beach and 1.2 km of Ezura Beach, Shirahama no Yado Daigo offers free WiFi throughout the property. Amazing stay at this hotel. Recommend it to anyone. The location was very close to the beach and many great restaurants. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious.

Ubytovanie má výhodnú polohu v destinácii Tanabe v štvrti Kawayu Onsen 12 km od miesta Hosshinmon Oji Shrine, 20 km od miesta Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art a 23 km od miesta Kumanoshi Kiwakozan... This is a perfect place to stay. If I come back to Japan, I will stay here again. I regret I only stayed 2 nights, more would be better :) The owner was very nice, cheerful and always with a smile on his face. I felt the most relaxed in this minshuku during my whole stay in Japan so far. I had a great time. Good starting point for several kumano kodo sections, or you can take the bus to others or back. There is an indoor onsen, but there is also outdoor onsen by the river right under the windows of this place. This was really a highlight. You can meet and talk to japanese people, which really is enriching. The minskuhu was cozy and comfortable. The road nearby is not busy and you can sleep good. By (my) mistake I booked smoking room, but I had no problem at all and I did not smell any cigaretes or so. Free washing machine, espresso and masaging chair. It is very worthy to order a dinner and a lunch box. Dinner has many courses and you can be sure you will not go to bed hungry. Varies if you are staying more nights. There is always big bowl of soup, many kinds of meat including fish, lots of vegetables, and of course rice or udon. Udon are especially good, the best I have tasted in Japan so far. Lunch bento is tasty as well and convenient, since there are not many shops around (I found one in the town 2km distant, and if you start the trek early, it can be closed).

If you're venturing all the way to Koyasan, then complete the experience and immerse yourself in this memorable shukubo experience. The staff and monks are genuine and courteous. The lodging facilities are comfortable and refined with nice touches and attention to detail. The food, although vegetarian, is exquisite - amazing flavors and textures that will satisfy. Alcohol is also available at extra cost. The morning prayer service and sutra recitation is guided as is the Ajikan meditation session which follows. Fudo-in seems smaller than some other lodging venues, which makes it more attractive and quieter. Location is perfect for bus stop #8.

Hotel Kirinosato Takahara features outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, only a 2-minute walk from the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes. I love the design of the room which is very cozy and modern. The location is right at the center of Takahara and looking out the window, we can appreciate the whole Mountain View. I also love the foods. The host is very kind and accommodating that they agree to help us ship a package which is outside the service they listed to provide.

Ubytovanie 高野山 宿坊 桜池院 -Koyasan Shukubo Yochiin- sídli v historickom chráme, ktorý je situovaný v posvätnej oblasti Mount Koya. The place, the style, the monks, the food, the bath... everything was excellent. The absolute silence during night... I woudl live there, if I could :-)
