Shokinkan er staðsett í Yasugi, 27 km frá Shinji-vatni, 29 km frá Lafcadio Hearn-minningarsafninu og 25 km frá Mizuki Shigeru-safninu. Staying with Shokinkan is an unforgettable experience.Before our stay, I contacted the owner about shuttle bus and they replied promptly. To our surprise, the owner gave us a ride from Adachi museum to the accommodation. Talking of the location, Shokinkan is inside temple complex. You need to go through the pavement of the temple to reach there. Regarding room, it is spacious and the scenery from the window is beyond expression. Green fresh momiji with red azalea. What a combination! We are welcomed with matcha and local sweet upon arrival. Before dinner, taking a shower and immersed in the bath to erase the tiredness from travel. They provide Shojin Cuisine for dinner. No matter the food or the utensils are with high quality and sensibility. The owner’s wife suggested us the local sake, which matched with food perfectly. The portion of dinner is generous. Seasonal vegetables are very tasty. The next morning, before breakfast, we explored Kiyomizu temple during rain. After check out, the owner took us all the way back to Yasugi station.

This was our fourth trip to Japan and we've stayed in many ryokans. This is one of our favorites. The space we stayed at was huge. It was a two-story stand alone building. The seats looked out onto the courtyard with a pond and a lot of trees, which was very peaceful. I'm usually not the type to stay in my hotel/ryokan all day, but this place tempted me to do so due to the serenity of the courtyard. There were two private onsen that were easy to access due to the small number of guests that stay here. The food was fabulous. While walking around one morning I found a hiking trail that led up to castle ruins. The next morning I hiked up to the ruins and down the other side and came out near the Moss Land.

Ryokan Koyokan Is a rare find set in an amazing forest location alongside the Kiyomizu-dera temple. We loved the absolute peace and quiet after a few hectic days in some of Japan’s big cities. The Ryokan is run by three generations of the same family, with the first member of the fourth generation a recent addition. Food is an amazing combination of mainly vegetarian dishes with some fish. Nearest railway station is at Yasugi from where you can get a taxi. We opted though to hire a car at Matsue Station for the half hour drive, this also meant easy travel to the nearby Adachi Museum of Art. Definitely recommend Koyokan for a relaxing experience in an amazing location.

The room was traditional and surprisingly large. The location very near to the train station was great and the food was lovely. We were served a wonderful steamed fish dish for dinner along with a delicious sake tasting. The host really made us feel welcome. Tsuwano is a real gem, and I would totally recommend Hoshi Ryokan.

Ohashikan er í 5 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá JR Matsue-stöðinni og í 15 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá Matsue-jo-kastalanum. Stunning, authentic and clean room(s), kind and understanding staff who spoke to me slowly in Japanese to assist with checkin, and rules were reiterated in English on documents anyway despite Matsue being relatively rural. Absolutely beautiful view at both night and in the morning, I was shocked! Onsen came free with the stay. Zero complaints, the best stay of our trip around Japan.

Saginoyusou er í aðeins 15 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá Yasugi-stöðinni og býður upp á afslappandi hveraböð undir berum himni með útsýni yfir fjöllin í Shimane.

Onsen Guest House Aobato no Su býður upp á gistirými í Matsue, nokkrum skrefum frá Tamatsukuri Onsen. Ókeypis WiFi er hvarvetna á gististaðnum. Ókeypis einkabílastæði eru í boði á staðnum. Kindly owner and staffs! Especially a wonderful show offered by owner! Really a surprise! Good onsen, Everything is clean, here you can have a really japan style experience.

Mihokan er með sjávarútsýni og býður upp á gistingu með garði, verönd og bar, í um 11 km fjarlægð frá Mizuki Shigeru-vegi. Meðal aðstöðu á gististaðnum er sólarhringsmóttaka og lyfta. The staff we're very professional and everything was clean.

5.4 km from Lake Shinji in Matsue, Hotel Gyokusen features accommodation with access to a sauna, hot spring bath and public bath. This was a luxurious treat and we all enjoyed it from the welcome by the general manager, the hot spring bath, the food, the room. One of our group had a massage which was very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was an amazing buffet of Japanese and Western dishes. The hotel provided transport by shuttle bus to and from the hotel. Communications via booking.com worked well.
