37 km from Notojima Glass Art Museum, Togiso 能登の古民家宿 is a recently renovated property located in Togi and provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Very disappointing and not caring staff, close to being rude. We felt not welcome. The village is empty and the Noto peninsula cost is a jewel destroyed by the earthquake.

Set 15 km from Kanazawa Castle, Katsuzakikan offers accommodation in Tsubata with access to a public bath. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The location was great. Quiet, comfortable and had everything we needed. The half board was incredible. The food provided for both breakfast and dinner was some of the best I've had in Japan, and the staff made us feel comfortable and totally taken care of from the moment we entered the door. The bath house was a little tired, however, it packed a punch. The water is heated via wood fire and as a result is piping hot the moment it gets in. The baths are HOT. We found the place to be very good value and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The building is obviously aged, and we were concerned what the room might be like when we first saw the carpets in the corridors (which need an upgrade) but were pleasantly surprised with the room given previous ratings and reviews. The traditional dinner was an amazing experience. Customer service wonderful.
