The onsen and private onsen was so amazing and magical. Also the view from my room was amazing because it was snowing and everything about this property was magical.

Featuring 10 uniquely designed hot spring baths, Shosenkaku Kagetsu provides Japanese-style accommodation just a 5-minute walk from JR Echigo Yuzawa Train Station. Hotel staff was excellent. Our 4th floor Japanese style room was so spacious, beds were so comfy and interior was so zen. View was amazing too! We did private room onsen every night apres ski. The best!

Set in peaceful landscapes, Kogakuro offers pleasant Japanese-style rooms with plenty of natural light. It features indoor and outdoor hot springs, a library and a cosy lounge with a fireplace. Amazing host, Mieko-san made the stay feel so special with her warmth, helpful demeanor and cheery greetings. Location was great for Akakura Onsen runs, food restaurants were nearby. Breakfast eggs and pancakes were standout items. Room was big and comfortable.

Ryounkaku Matsunoyama onsen, a property with a shared lounge, is set in Tokamachi, 38 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort, 36 km from Maiko Snow Resort, as well as 47 km from Lake Hokuryuko. The staff were fabulous. Couldn’t do enough to make your stay wonderful and comfortable.

Boasting an open-air bath and views of mountain, Sake Hotel Tamakiya is a recently renovated ryokan situated in Tokamachi, 38 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort. breakfast was excellent, it didn't seem much at first but once you started, the flavor of the different vegetables accompanied by the selected rice was incredible. Also loved the sake pairing of our French dinner.

Rankeisou provides a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 33 km of Yukyuzan Park and 33 km of Yukyuzan Small Animal Zoo. A perfect Onsen in a lush Forrest next to the Sumon river. The different Onsen with public and private ones are fantastic, all of them with outside bath. The rooms are nicely designed and renovated with balcony and all needed amenities. The food (Kaiseki) is delicious, the host is very helpful (in English if required).

Kutsurogian offers a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 17 km of Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort and 40 km of Naeba Ski Resort. Amazing stay, so peaceful and clean. Staff were wonderful and gave us lots of unique experiences (like the sparklers!). They went above and beyond to accommodate us, which we really appreciated. Food was delicious and the onsens were gorgeous.

Set within 12 km of Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort and 35 km of Naeba Ski Resort, Satoyama Jujo THE HOUSE provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Minami Uonuma. Everything was so serene and pretty. The staff were Very kind and welcoming. They found out it was our anniversary and made us a special dessert! We have all kinds of food restrictions and they took them all into consideration. The room was amazing and had a beautiful veiw. The food was very good and all locally sourced. 100 percent would recommend this ryokan! The onsen in the room was so peaceful and the common one had a view to the mountains

Boasting a spa bath, Four Seasons Yuzawa Quattro is situated in Yuzawa. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. The ryokan has a hot spring bath and luggage storage space. Good facility. Privacy and peacefully to be there.

Set in Murakami, Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Shiomiso provides accommodation with a sauna, a hot spring bath and a public bath. There is an in-house restaurant and free private parking. Wonderful facility, very well maintained. Great views of the Japan sea from the huge lounge. Wonderful and helpful staff - if you don't speak Japanese, no problem. the staff speaks some English, communicates thru translation apps and clear gestures. fantastic room with an ocean view! lovely onsen. I was stunned by the huge variety of foods at dinner and breakfast buffets. We don't have this in the US. If I had I known how great the whole experience would be, I would have booked an extra night.
