What a wonderful experience staying at JOZANKEI Onsen Yurakusoan. The Onsen in the room was great! The public Onsen was great and the private Onsen were great!! The food served at breakfast and dinner was bountiful and there were extra snacks and late night free ramen supper around the hotel. It was relaxing and tranquil. The surrounding town is nice and small, a few convenience stores and food stalls, a small waterfall and just beautiful scenery. We went during winter and was able to take in the beautiful snowy landscape.
It was surprisingly easy to get to via the public bus from Sapporo station

The rooms are big and as per the advertised photos. The interiors are also very homey and comfortable.
The staff there are very friendly.
They also provide Bluetooth speaker in the room. Their private onsen and sauna are also very comfortable and clean.
For their dinner, the Hokkaido beef is very very very good and we could also make additional orders for uni, shrimp, snow crab etc.

The property was very relaxing in general and everything was carefully thought out. I especially enjoyed the harp performance and marshmallow toasting session at the lobby at night. The breakfast and dinner spread was amazing as well. There were plenty of parking at the location.

The staff were really helpful. They were very understanding of my need for a private bath as i have arm tattoos, and were responsive in helping my secure a private room.
The room we stayed in was massive, and the breakfast was really delicious! The amenities provided like the toiletries were great.

I had the opportunity to experience the Japanese way of life, and the service was excellent. We encountered a loud Chinese tourist, and the staff thoughtfully offered us a quieter area to enjoy. The Ryokan experience was superb, especially the room with a private onsen, providing a perfect opportunity for intimacy with my spouse.

best for relaxation and just chilling out. place was great in terms of service, cleanliness and thoughtfulness. The meals for each night were fantastic especially the main meal ( roast beef and pork).
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Clean and spacious tatami rooms. Variety of amenities available at both 2F and 12F onsen. Great breakfast spread. Situated near parks and photo spots of Jozankei
A well managed establishment. Good facilites. Nice lounges (reading, sitting lounges offering drink and snack). Two onsen facilities. A good Kaiseki dinner. A surprise dessert was sent to the room.
the room is awesome with great view and lovely hot spring bath included. Electronics in the room is quite updated (Panasonic hair dryer and a Bluetooth speaker) staff are also very friendly and helpful. overall a very enjoyable stay
Nothing much, come to think about it. Just a normal onsen hotel I have been before. Not worth the additional $$$ we paid expecting a superb experience.
very convenient location.. near to parks and Jozankei shrine
Half board dinner was wonderful.. 5 star presentation
breakfast not bad too
open air onsen is pretty
staff very polite and helpful
The room is significant in traditional Japanese style, you can enjoy everything you expect from an onsen hotel in Japan. The big onsen is really relaxing especially on a snowy day.
Everything about the hotel. My first time experiencing Ryokan and it was wonderful. Unlike the review, quite a few staff at the reception area were able to speak English and they are friendly to foreigners. The outdoor onsen was great and with adequate privacy. Room was a bit too warm during winter with the heater turned on. There are timing for free beer and sakes, sochu etc. It's very worth it if you enjoy drinking.
