The room was lovely and spacious, with plenty of storage for our luggage. There was a comfortable bed and separate lounge/seating area, along with a balcony that had a table and chairs. It was great sitting out in the evening. The breakfast was excellent, with so much choice of hot and cold options. The location was about 10 to 15 minutes walk into town down a steep hill, but the exercise helped to work off the breakfast. I would absolutely stay here again.

The owner was friendly and meticulous in looking after us and the breakfast she provided was superb. We were also able to get good recommendations for eating out at night. There was good parking at the hotel and we enjoyed free bus travel for the duration of our stay which was very useful to enable us to visit the neighbouring town of Goslar. It was our first visit to the Harz area but we are sure we will be back.

This hotel has a spa area with a sauna and please note that sauna must be reserved . The large palace grounds are ideal for relaxing in. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices at the buffet. The service at breakfast by the waitresses was very good. The location was excellent! The castle and the grounds are beautifully kept and inside was warm and cosy with lovely antique furnishings to fit the castle’s original era. Lots of attractions nearby!
