There only one bathroom to share with everyone but never crowded, no microwave to use, it get very hot in room and small garbage can

The fumes from the main road came into our room. They burn plastic on a BBQ so the fumes from the plastic are in the air. This is typical in this country though, we think. There are a lot of mosquitos there. There is no drinking water available for guests to drink so you have to carry heavy bottles from the shops which is a problem if you dont have transport. They brought us some when we asked though, which we paid for. Limited equipment available in the kitchen so it is difficult to cook if anyone else is making food at the same time & only 2x saucepans *& no kettle & the machine doesnt have a jug so you cant use it. Booking.com shows the 2 types of double room with exactly the same listing information, so we booked the cheaper one thinking we had a private bathroom. This caused a problem on arrival as they did not wish to include a private bathroom, but agreed to in the end. Our arrival was very stressful because of the issue with the booking & we were 15 minutes early. Only the house keeper was there & she only speaks Spanish so it was a 3-way conversation with us, her & the owner via her phone, after a long journey for us. No tourist information at all.

We could walk there from the bus station. There was a kitchen to use. The hostel brought us water on request but they dont provide it for guests. They lent me a yoga mat on request which was great. They listened to my requests & tried to help with everything. They have created a lovely space with bright fresh paint & lots of plants in pots. The vehicle parked on our patio was moved on request. They gave us an extra comfy chair to use on request. There is a papusa restaurant there in the evening. The staff were all kind & helpful & easy going.

There is no filtred water. We had to ask twice for the second towels.

Good price for a clean hostal. Avoid room 9 because it is in front of showers/toilets and closed to the kitchen, so we didn’t have privacy and quiet.

Something to be aware of - the entry is locked at night so make sure you talk to the staff if you need to leave early in the morning.

I missed filtered water.

Good and cheap option if you wanna have a single room with a strong ventilator over the bed. Good food places around, 15 minutes walk to the center. I liked the area.

The staff was very friendly. They have a restaurant on the property which makes it easier and the beers are super cold 🥶 which helps A LOT! The main issue is how hot the rooms are. STEAMING HOT!!

Monica was the most efficient and awesome host ever. The staff was amazing. Strong wifi. Decent shower. It was by no means luxury, but very comfortable and a great price. I would stay there again and recommend to all my friends.

Kitchen a little small for so many guests and not very well equipped

We stayed in a room with private bathroom and thought it was very good value for money! Big room, our own little terrace outside the room, no air con but an industrial sized fan so that was ok! The woman who checked us in and did our laundry was so friendly. Also lots of pupuserias around - cheap delicious street food that we ate daily!!

The shops nearby were closed on a Sunday and we really needed some water so we asked if they sold it. They sold us a small 500ml bottle for $1 which was a bit of a rip off. One of the toilets wouldn't flush properly so this caused problems.

Amazing value for money! The staff are so friendly and helpful. They change your bedding and towels EVERY day which is very rare and clean your room. The location is just a 20 minute walk to town but very close to markets, restaurants (the best papusa place just 2 blocks away). The bus station is just a short walk and it's also really close to where you catch the bus for the volcano, Rutas de las Flores and to San Salvador so it's perfect really. It's not the most social of hostels, but it does have two tables so you can make it work.

Weird to have a toilet in the room with no door or roof. It smelled a bit so we had to buy an air freshener. Kitchen could do with better sharp knifes/forks but nothing major!

For the price we paid (with genius discount) it was good - get more than what we paid for. Staff were friendly and wifi was good. Nice outside area for each room. Good location.
