A fantastic hostel - or "vandrarhem", as we call it in Swedish, "wanderer's home" - located in the woods and in a short walk from the Lake Vättern, the second largest Swedish lake. Being a "hostel", one expects it to be quite "spartan", but it's at the same time very comfortable and clean. There's a common kitchen but we opted for a breakfast. There are also options for grilling. The staff is very good and just nice to talk to. The mobile network coverage is extremely bad - however it's definitely a positive thing here, you probably want to be disconnected! The woods around offer lots of great paths, and the lake views are gorgeous. So don't forget a pair of hiking shoes and grab a map at the reception!

Mobile internet was hardly accessible at the site. Wi-fi was available only around the reception. But isn't it nice to be offline sometimes? People were enjoying board games, reading newspapers, chatting with other groups.

Located in the middle of nature. Quite far from the closest bus stop or supermarket, but it should be fine if you have a bicycle or a car. Bring food and cook at the kitchen.

We were surprised by having to pay 300kr for the sheets when we checked in. I tried finding this information on Booking.com but can’t find it anywhere. Suddenly it was more expensive than it should be for the room you get.

It was in the middle of nature and the living room was pretty cozy.

I enjoyed the comfort of having a clean, beautiful and friendly accommodation in the nature park. I enjoyed being able to go for nature hikes and come back to a comfortable and welcoming place. Breakfast was generous with lots of options.

Breakfast is expensive, better to bring your own food and cook it in the kitchen. I had to pay extra for pets. One will hear every neighbor walking and talking. It wasn’t clear where to park since there is no sign. There is no internet or mobile connection at the property. Check in and check out were slow and lengthy, payment wasn’t going through due to poor internet connection. People on reception (owners of the place?) were tired and not very friendly

well, I was traveling with a dog and although it says “pets allowed” on the website it was allowed only on request. so once booked they have informed me that they have no rooms available at the property. but it’s a not refundable booking so I didn’t get any solution in that situation. I would perhaps suggest that they change the policy to “no pets” and by request the owners can ask. because they do pop up in the pet friendly cathegory in filters and it says “pets allowed” and only later in policies you read that it’s only by request. so that’s disappointing. the rooms are a bit old, but the bathroom facilities and kitchen are well maintained.

it’s placed in great surroundings, lots of woods, easy to find from highway, good coffee, welcoming staff. plenty of parking space.
