Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The shower upstairs is small and the water is weak but it was okay. The rest of the property is superb and close to everything in the historic town of Ronda.
All good, great location, beds were comfortable and WIFI excellent.

Several little niggles in the property which the owner needs to address. The shower didn't have a wall attachment. A socket was attached to the wall with sellotape. One socket didn't work.

Information about access to keys was only sent an hour before check in time and instructions to enter were not well set out. There were only 2 cups in the apartment, no sharp knives for cutting bread, no tea pot or coffee pot, but 3 buckets and mops

The ground floor apartment was a bit soulless with not much natural light but it was just a cheap place to sleep so no complaints here 😎
Great location near town centre and has everything you need for a quick stopover. Fast and efficient check in just minutes after booking it. Host pleasant and helpful.

It was very cold. In the summer it can be advantage, but in cold part of the year it can be disadvantage. But you can heat the place using AC.

One of the bathroom needs some renovation (showerdoor and showerhandle) No heating in one of the bedroom

The noise of the streets was very loudly in the morning and night, it was hard to sleep very well.

The toilet makes a lot of noise when you flash but it stop after while.

the pillows, a bit too hard but almost not worth mentioning. one of the rooms doesn’t have air conditioning!

There was only one mug available, so in oder to drink tea, we needed to share it. Mug was to tall to fit to coffee machine, so no coffee in the morning. I am recommending to add more plates/cuttlery/mugs etc. It was super cold in the apartment, so I will suggest to add more blankets or electric heater. Unfortunateley, the aircon didn't warm up apartment (and I tried different set ups).

It is directly next to a street on the ground floor, which can be annoying. Depends on how sensitive one is.

Overall the apartment was not very clean. Hairs in the shower and under a soap / shampoo container. Area of shower mouldy. Sofa / maybe bed settee grubby, very uncomfortable to sit on as you can feel the wooden frame . I can’t imaging sleeping on it. Limited daylight and no outside view. The apartment on the booking site was not the one we stayed in! Overall disappointing.

They had wasps in the place and they were massive. some of them were dead beside the window when we woke up there were two massive wasp and we have to call them to fumigate and do something about them.

Shower needs proper cleaning There’s a lot of black mould in the grout and between the tiles. Drain was slow and shower water did not drain easily. Light bulb missing from bedside lamp Pictures were sitting on the floor leaning against the wall, unhung. Towels are thread bare. Door hinges super loud and squeaky… need a little grease!
