This place is amazing. It is clean, quiet and you even get a cold shelf and dry shelf for you to use with your room number on it. Our room was spacious and very clean. The Hostal had everything you could want and the staff was so wonderful. Carlos, the owner, went above and beyond and you can see as soon as you arrive why this won the best hostel award.

Location is near center and touristic areas, person managing the business is the owner’s sister. She appears attentive but not doing her job. She is good in overly charging for a place that she’s not giving maintenance because she doesn’t want to pay to fix the rooms she’s renting. Awful services!

Big Cockroaches crawling in the kitchen pans, the utensils were dirty and some dark spots in the utensils drawers like drop of poop from the cockroaches. One of cooking wares compartment door was broken and fell down when opened. The bathroom shower was broken splashing water all over and some wires sticking out. I reported to the person in charge Karen (owner’s sister). She said that she will clean the place the next day. Later at night when I was looking for her to report the shower being broken, a young guest was looking for her too because she found mice poop on their bed sheets. The next day, I left with my family to explore the city. We were out for 5 hours when we came back she told me that the place was clean. I found another cockroach inside the cooking wares area in the kitchen. I let her know and she got defensive saying, “you’re the only one who sees cockroaches”. Her attitude was very unprofessional.

Bed sheets were dirty, dark blue to camouflage the stains and oily spots, disgusting. Bed mattresses stained. I didn’t like anything, cockroaches in the kitchen and bedroom. Bathroom was dirty, a lot of hair on the floor with other particles from previous guests, the shower area smelled bad.

The place wasn’t clean at all, Badthroom dirty with an awful smell, bed sheets had oily spot, dark blue to camouflage the the oily spots, mattresses stained, dead cockroaches in the kitchen cooking ware and alive cockroaches crawling on the kitchen counter and in one of the bedrooms, electrical wires sticking out of the wall in the dining area. We didn’t shower due to the filthy and awful smelly bathroom. I didn’t defected the toilet seat area, and spent the night washing the bed sheets. It was an awful experience, the person in charge. Liliana, came quickly to collect the money and took off. She didn’t provide toilet paper, the only good thing in this staying was the washing machine and dryer. I’m glad I was carrying disinfectant wipes and detergent. I was able to wash their dirty bed sheets.

The bedrooms equipped with air conditioning, bed sheets cleans. Mirrors could be helpful in the bedrooms and TV. The owners were attentive, and professional.

Not enough cooking ware, only one small fry pan to cook and small pot. The jack in the living room to plug the fan wasn’t working. The air conditioner in the living doesn’t function properly, a fan is needed to meet the purpose but can’t be plugged because the jack didn’t work, and it is hot and humid in Bella Vista. There were ants crawling in the kitchen area due to heat. But the owners left some spray underneath the sink and took care of the problem.

Wifi didn’t work for most of our 2 night stay. It’s kind of ghost town. The hot water shower head sprayed water all directions and flooded the bathroom. The curtains do not block the light.
