Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we"d publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They"re also applicable regardless of the comment"s tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwedenI encountered some issues with my room, as the air conditioner was not working. After reporting the problem, a staff member came to check but was unable to fix it. Fortunately for me, I was upgraded to a better room at no additional cost, which was a pleasant resolution. One concern worth mentioning as a business traveler is the need to iron clothes, especially since I often arrive late at night for early morning meetings. When I requested an iron, I was informed that the housekeeper was unavailable on Sundays or during late evenings. Providing an iron at the reception desk could be a simple and effective solution to address this inconvenience
Finding a luxury hotel in Kinshasa is not particularly challenging, with new establishments being constructed all the time. However, I was especially impressed during my first stays at the Hotel Royal, primarily due to the professionalism of the staff. Joanna at the reception, in particular, has always left a remarkable impression. I have tried several other hotels in Kinshasa, including five-star establishments, but have encountered various issues, including incidents where staff fraudulently deducted money from my credit card without authorization. Ultimately, I decided to return to Hotel Royal. As a golfer, I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel management recently offered me a complimentary round at the Kinshasa Golf Club, fully covered by them. I will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future.

United StatesHotel uses Equity Bank whose system for credit cards is out-dated, This leads to credit card refusal that doesn't come from the credit card company but from the hotel vendor Equity system. This leads to requirement for large sums of cash and very inconvenient cash payment or cash deposit for food service.
Staff support, security, resto staff all welcoming and solicitous, good in city taxi support.

MauritiusOne of the room cleaning staff tried to get money out of me for a service that was offered by the hotel. I have to say though that her colleague the following day was one of the nicest person I have ever met, so I would not judge them on the behavior of one bad apple.
Staff are friendly, food is good, and in general it’s a nice environment for when you are traveling alone for work.

United States- There are a fair amount of mosquitoes on the property and in the hallways as the staff leave the window open (and the windows are without screens) so they sometimes get into your room. - The wifi is of medium strength depending on how many people are in the hotel and actively using it. - The restaurant is a bit pricy but the majority of the food is tasty and safely prepared.
- The location of the hotel is very central to downtown Kinshasa and assuming the traffic in the city is good, it is a pretty quick ride from the airport. - The rooms are clean and secure. - The staff in all parts of the hotel are very friendly and helpful. - The gym is surprisingly well equipped.

IndiaWIFI was really bad, was not exactly able to work or watch some movies in free time. Also the room was really far away on 6th floor which was really a deserted corridor and the lift definitely needs some work done.
Breakfast was really good and hat a lot of options, specially the cookies, croissants were really nice. Eggs was my go to also had some nice fried potatoes and bananas along with rice which really a great addition to the menu. Also the staff helped with a cab for my entire duration in Kinshasa. hotel is at a very accessible locations to all major business units.
