Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe power was inconsistent, which may be a regular problem in this region, but twice it happened only at our hotel and next door was fine. I think they had a problem with their generator while we were there, as one night it was out for several hours. Wifi was also somewhat inconsistent for work, but acceptable speed, as long as there was power. There were little cracks in the top of the door frame and bathroom screen that allowed mosquitos inside, but there was a mosquito net in the room, and we didn't have too many anyway. Still very nice for a relaxing in a nice hotel and using it as a base to see some of Burundi.
We were very happy with our few days here on a short visit to Burundi. The staff were all very nice and helpful, breakfast was plentiful and good, lovely grounds, good amenities, and a good location right across from Lake Tanganyika, though it's not as nice a beachside view as I'd hoped. There's a nice pool, outdoor restaurant and seating area, and a very good gym (other than the fact that the wifi doesn't reach inside). The room and bed were spacious and comfortable, and we slept well here.

MauritiusInitially could not get TV channels and had to call twice to have this sorted as it had something to do with payment of subscription. There were lots of bees attracted to the fruits and jam at breakfast and swirling around me. Bathroom had a bathtub and I had to hold showerhead with one hand for a shower.
Polite and helpful staff. Hotel premises well maintained. Nice breakfast. Within walking distance of le Mussée Vivant and the lake shore.

South AfricaWell, the hotel is close to the lake. Yes, there are Mosquitoes. We encountered them outdoors, especially in the evening. No problem in the room. Citronella oil prevents them from getting on your nerves.
I am glad I chose this hotel at the end of our trip through Central Africa. It was very relaxing with birds chirping all day. The nights were quiet, the days were not overly loud. Everything we had hoped for was there. Working air conditioning and fridge. Clean, good sized rooms, balcony overlooking the garden. Nice restaurant on the roof overlooking the lake. Tasty and well-prepared dishes are served. Breakfast in the green pool area, surrounded by beautiful trees. Breakfast was included in the booking. We opted for the American breakfast, which included a large plate of fresh fruit and omelette, and you can order anything you like from the menu for an extra charge. The garden restaurant is open from early morning until late evening. The pool is very clean, a good size, well maintained and modern. My husband enjoyed working out in the gym next to the pool. Since we were in Burundi, things work differently than in other countries. In general, it takes a long time for food to be prepared throughout the country. We noticed that in many hotels the food is prepared over a charcoal fire. Waiting time between 30 - 90 min. Be patient. WiFi works very well everywhere on the premises.

United KingdomMeal prices are a little high, some of the staff could improve their service (though most are friendly & helpful), soundproofing could be improved as the noise from corridors at night disturbed what would have otherwise been a great night’s sleep.
We really enjoyed our time at the hotel, it served as a great place for us to spend our few days in Burundi. The rooftop restaurant serves great food, and breakfast overlooking the lake from the lakeside restaurant is a great way to start the day. Facilities were great, with a fantastic gym and lovely swimming pool area. Also, great shower in the room! Overall, would recommend!

SingaporeThe TV did not work. Would be good if they became sustainable. I told the cleaning boy not to change my sheets/towels everyday. Would be good to have a few dustbins around the property. If they had wire mesh frames, the door could be left open.
Beautiful garden and pool. On Lake Tanganika. Nice restaurant in the lake. Close to Musee Vivant. Fabulous staff. Very friendly and nice. I would say homely. Rooms have balconies which makes it pleasant to sit outside. Aircon was low in cooling the room.

United StatesThe bed was incredibly uncomfortable — after a long day of working I couldn’t even relax because it felt like I was sleeping on a board. They were accommodating enough to give me more pillows when I informed them of that after the first day, but it didn’t help much. I had mosquitoes in my room every single night I was there, and the bednet had holes all over so that was that. The AC wasn’t working quite well either. But the food…the food was a hit and miss. Breakfast was great. Dinner— not so much, especially the rooftop restaurant. I’ve never eaten grilled fish that is so hard, it hurts to chew. Luckily, I ate at neighboring restaurants so I’m not judging all Burundese cuisine :). Zion Beach had a most excellent grilled fish, forgot the name, but it wasn’t the mukeke nor the sangala. Reminded me of our grilled fish back in Cmr. Overall, a good 6.5 stars I will say.
In regards to the location, it was a great middle ground between the airport and the office. Not far from downtown either. The fitness center was well equipped (albeit terribly hot in there!), the pool was great and I liked that you have two restaurants options at the hotel. The staff was also responsive and attentive.

SpainThe bathroom in the room was bad. Old, small, ugly... There are mosquitoes absolutely everywhere. Lake Tanganyika is full of them, but the hotel really must make an effort in having insect free rooms. I was eaten alive throughout my stay. Breakfast is not good. Fruits are ok but all in all it could be a lot nicer. No pastry, small bread, small omelette... Can be improved.
Location was great. Right by the lake, in the centre of Bujumbura. Room was quite large. The rooftop is very pleasant and the food is nice and affordable. The pool looked very good although it was always very full. I suspect employees let people into the pool even if they're not guests because the pool was always packed with locals. A pity. Gym was also very nice. Much better than in most African hotels. All in all good stuff for a modest price.
