Located around 12 km from El Pilar, the resort with free WiFi is also 31 km away from Barton Creek Cave. Staff on site can arrange a shuttle service. The property is beautifully situated right on the river - which you can swim in! There is jungle all around and feels like you are in an oasis! Every morning I would have my coffee overlooking the river - I saw river otters and one day a large river turtle just came floating by! We had breakfast there - which was very good! The staff was amazing - helped us book an ATM Cave tour last minute (which was a once in a lifetime experience) and assisted with our travels to Guatemala. We wondered if the no AC in the room would be an issue, but it absolutely wasn't! Between the cool down at night and the fans in the room we slept great!

Good Living Camp
Jaguar Creek offers accommodation in Caves Branch. The resort has a year-round creek with available tubing as weather permits, barbecue and sun terrace, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant. Free private parking is available on site. Perfect location. Just remember you’re in the jungle, so there will be sounds at night. We spent 3 nights in the most remote cabin, we were the only ones in the hotel, so it was just us in the nature. Plenty of hummingbirds flowing around the hibiscus, we saw a group of wild little pigs one morning just under our window, lots of fireflies every evening at dusk on our way to the restaurant… quite magical. The vegetation is luscious, with lots of flowers and trees. There’s everything you need in the cabins, from water dispensers to mosquito sprays (we even had a hammock in our cabin!). The mosquito / bug isolation of the cabin is pretty thorough, but the bed mosquito net offers extra protection. The cabins are very spacious. There was a few fans. Shower worked fine. We enjoyed tubing / bathing in the river along the estate. With the free bikes provided you can ride to the chocolate farm grab an iced coffee or cycle to the blue hole, which are very nearby. The hotel also offers a variety of tours / activity. We did the nearby cave tour. The food was delicious. It’s a set menu but there’s hasn’t been one meal prepared by the cook we didn’t like / finish. The staff was so helpful and kind. Lots of little attentions, like flower petals in our room at arrival or for our last diner… and anything to make our stay more enjoyable. And after speaking to the staff, we found out that it’s a non profit place, and they’re actually helping local students. All in all, it was an amazingly relaxing stay, and it felt even better knowing you’re helping the local community by staying there.

San Ignacio
This family-run lodge offers a health spa, an eco-friendly swimming pool and unique accommodation with private verandas and jungle views. It is set next to the Macal River, in a private rainforest reserve. The Lodge at Chaa Creek was spectacular and a perfect place to stay in the rainforest of Belize. The staff were SO helpful from the moment I booked the trip (via lots of email communication to plan outings, etc) and through our entire stay. The setting there is beautiful and the food at the restaurant was fantastic. We would highly recommend staying here on all fronts!

A beautiful resort with great amenities and lots to do! Wandering around the property, all of the gorgeous landscaping is a real treat and the aromas from the flowers are wonderful. The staff in the restaurant/bar are attentive and friendly and the rooms are nice and clean--they look just like the photos. We originally planned only a single night, but returned for another 2 nights to make sure Beryl didn't have any impacts on San Pedro (so we liked it enough to return despite what I say below!)
Really liked this hostel- it felt very clean with good beds, amazing breakfast and the location is great, close to ruins and a great resort where you can use their pool.
We loved the atmosphere and room. The front desk staff are wonderful as were all the tour guides and their tours. Darwin is a great concierge and we enjoyed Maya fish cooking and natural remedies with Ivan, iguana visit with George, Maya ruins with Cruz, and cave tubing with Wilbur. The desk and restaurant staff are also wonderful. We were able to do every activity directly from the resort and our time at the resort was delightful. The room is spacious and comfortable with great AC when needed. The pool and grounds are wonderful.
Since we are a family of 4 we booked a room with two double beds. The room was quite small and there was only room for two people to sit on the porch. Since renovation was being done to the room next to us and my husband complained about the noise we were upgraded to the garden cottage. I wasn’t too excited about the room but the garden cottage was fantastic for us as a family. The grounds of the resort are stunning and having the choice of swimming in the pool or tubing on the river was luxury. We loved the wildlife around the lodge.
We stay in a bungalow with a screened in porch, it was lovely and private. We enjoyed the restaurant and loved the little coffee shop. The resort was a good base to go on full day, excursions and the staff where all nice, helpful and friendly.
The property was great, the grounds were well kept, and the bar area was open and fun. Staff was nice and went beyond normal service at a resort.
The view from the resort is fantastic. The facilities were a bit dated, but functional. Difficult walk up and down from the bottom bungalows, not for anyone who isn't up for a lot of hilly walks. Perfect location next to the ruins that were basically deserted anytime we went by. Would stay again.
The entire experience was exceptional. We arrived by car service so were thrilled that all the tours that were perfectly chosen for us picked us up at the resort. Loved sitting outdoors every morning surrounded by the amazing birds they feed fruit and enjoying breakfast. Dinner was also wonderful. My husband wanted to watch a Kansas City Chiefs playoff game and they found a sports bar that could play it and arranged the taxi.
I liked the location and resort. It is located on top of hill with nice view.
The property is stunning, nestled between the botanical gardens and the Macal River. The landscaping is gorgeous and the facilities were great. I stayed for 3 days and did not leave the resort. The all inclusive package makes it easy, the food was superb. Staff was wonderful. Laid back atmosphere yet felt high class. Massages were great. Rooms 1-3 will have wifi as they’re next to reception building. The new pool is amazing.
