But, it's summer in Laguna! The Tides is an old school Laguna Beach motel. I grew up there, so It was just what I wanted. Staying in a big and super fancy resort would just feel wrong to me. Bed was super comfortable and had good pillows! Small kitchenette would be very handy if staying for a few days.

Ripped carpets, rusted elevator controls, rotted wood, broken or ragged furniture, molded shower that smelt horrible, room cabinets coming off hinges. Then they want to nickel and dime you. Charging $45 a night for valet, $25 a night for the use of a microwave and also charging a resort fee for a pool that looks like your at a Motel 6!
