De Kloof Heritage estate is a Cape Dutch boutique hotel and spa , is just a few minutes walk into the heart of Swellendam. It has a 12-metre outdoor pool and spa with panoramic mountain views. The room was nice big with a comfortable bed. I liked the fact that the bed was long enough to accommodate my length of 1.90 meters. The bathroom was had all the amenities that I expect and it a shower and a bath.

Really beautiful house, big room and beautiful garden plus a pool. Cute dogs and bunnies. Breakfast was great and delicious. The hosts were super, like rest of the staff as well. They gave tips for dinner and made sure we are safe.

Just about everything!! Location was amazing with great pool and alongside a river overlooking the mountains. Secure parking and neighbourhood. Purpose built rooms with loads of space. Quiet, secure with a friendly host - probaby the best guest house we've stayed in South Africa or elsewhere.

I liked the peace and quiet and just waking to birds chirping and animals around. Also that there were no foul smells seeing that animals do walk the premises 😉

We especially loved the cosy fireplace for those cool evenings and the wood fire hot tub where we could enjoy a relaxing soak surrounded by nature. The farm setting added a special touch, with donkeys, horses, and sheep grazing nearby. Hermitage Huisies is the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, and I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking to escape into nature while still enjoying top-notch amenities. Whether you're seeking adventure or just a peaceful retreat, this is the place to be. We will definitely be returning!
