Have been to several hotels in Zanzibar and this one is excellent. Actually it is better in reality than in pictures! You are absolutely amazed upon arrival!! The other hotels have good pics but not reflecting the reality. Jambiani is a real 4 stars hotel. The villas are absolutely fantastic with incredible views and made in the way that you are feeling home. Every details has been set up in order for you to spend wonderful holidays! The villas have a real taste of luxury but it is melting in the environment! They have solar system and generator to take over electricity outrage and furnitures are absolutely tasty and comfortable . Service and restaurant are excellent! Thanks for this wonderful time with you!
Zanzibar is nice if you want to relax, maybe at a beach resort hotel. The community and people live a very basic simple type of life style. The island is very untidy in many areas and you have many of the islanders walking or riding motorcycles as transportation. The airport is horrible! HORRIBLE! No structure at all; it's basically a one room building with wires coming from the ceiling and broken tiles on the floor. You pay 50 dollars for a visa when you get there. However, Americans should be aware they charge US 100 dollars. They say it's a special visa which allows us 1 year entry but you wouldn't want to come back within a year after visiting. Basically a rip off experience... Just FYI. Other than that I enjoyed the 3 day safari in Arusha and my stay at Baladin.
Nungwi beaches are the best in Zanzibar! We traveled quite a bit during our stay to explore island, and definitely the best beaches are in Nungwi.. there are few resorts on that beach strip which are nice for dinners, especially recommended sea breeze in diamond resort!
Nungwi is so beautiful, actually all of Zanzibar is beautiful. The only issue is the touts on the beach, but they weren't as bad as in Watamu, Kenya.
Nungwi beaches I'd say is the most breath-taking in Zanzibar. The locals are friendly despite the poor living conditions. Nungwi Island has little in terms of souvenir (you re better off getting them in stone town) but all in all, I'd still lodge in nungwi when next I return cause am African and I was captivated by the beauty of the landscape
One of the best places I have ever been. The beach is amazing. The water is brilliant and clear. The sand is white and clean, no sea grass or rubbish. When the sun goes down people play football in the sand. We stayed in Zanzibar Gold beach, an amazing restaurant and brilliant food.
Zanzibar City is an interesting mix of Africa and its Arabic influences - a stark contrast to Kenya, Lagos or South Africa. People of Bantu orgin with a distinc Arabic influence comes to mind and it is characterised in the foods, the market and the architecture. There are amazing restuarants and coffee shops in the city and the day trips for snorkelling and visiting the surrounding islands are an absolute dream. When I return to the city I'd like to bypass rainy season and spend some time chartering a boat. I will definitely be back.
City full of history but I visited 20 years ago... I recently visited and felt like a wallet-tourist... not much friendliness (in fact a lot of arrogant aggressiveness) and locals are just looking on how to make you spend... For me, Zanzibar is loosing it... I feel bad for this destination I use to praise !
Jambiani is a calm fishing village that seems not to be as overrun by tourists as places farther north. You can walk for kilometers at the beach or do a cultural tour to get to know the village. Bigger hotels there organize the same activities and tours that you can find all over Zanzibar (diving, kitesurfing, spice tours etc.) However there is not much more that you can do. So if you are looking for a very calm place it is perfect for you.
Maybe not the best location in Zanzibar but exactly what I was looking for. Quiet and peaceful. Pleasant stuff and nice and cozy accommodation. Breakfast was good.
I spent a night at Shaba Boutique Hotel before flying out of Zanzibar and it was perfect. I was able to check in a bit earlier and the room was stunning, the bed and all the decor felt true to Stone Town and the staff were so friendly and helpful in arranging transport to the airport as well. The breakfast was excellent in the morning. Location was great, during the night it can be intimidating walking the streets but it really isn't too far from the typical tourist spots. I would stay again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend.
Our Zanzibar getaway at The Loop Hotel was simply wonderful. The staff's kindness and the immaculate room were outstanding. The local-inspired decor added a lovely touch. Breakfast, with those irresistible donuts, was a highlight - big thanks to the chefs! Special shout-out to the welcoming staff and reception team for making our stay memorable. The pool area was a true oasis. Highly recommended for an exceptional retreat. Can't wait for our next visit! Warm regards,
I had an amazing experience at Warere Hotel! I was impressed by how clean and comfortable the room is. It truly felt like a home away from home. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. The view from the room was breathtaking . the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and professional, always going above and beyond to ensure my comfort. I highly recommend Warere Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Zanzibar. I'll definitely be back!
We had a pleasant time at The Garten Living Hotel, we enjoyed their outstanding service, comfortable beds, and their location is just 6 min away to the beach and in the middle of paje, easy access to everything, very safe at night as they have full night security which it makes you feel safe and Home. Their food menu was really delicious comparing to all around restaurants in Zanzibar, Don't forget to try their Frozen mango passion drink, and the Classic Burger.
Staying at Z-Breeze Hotel in Zanzibar was an absolute pleasure. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was incredibly relaxing, and the rooms were tastefully decorated, capturing the island's charm. The food was fantastic, with tropical breakfasts that started our days perfectly. The staff were always ready to help, friendly, and genuinely made us feel at home. It's the kind of place where you can truly unwind and enjoy the laid-back vibes.
Kizimkazi
Hotel is beautiful and very green, feels like jungle. We came to Zanzibar for honeymoon and this was our first stop in Tanzania. They upgraded our villa to Jungle villa and it was a nice gesture from hotel. Except reception area, staff in the beach bar, restaurant, housekeeping, bar in lobby are nice, helpful and doing their best. Also in the evening there is acrobatic and music entertainment, they are the only nice thing to do in the evening.
Thank you for making our first stay in zanzibar memorable. Hotel arranged pick up for me and kept me updated all the way, driver was patient by wating for us , the manager is a gem checked if we ok. We were served drinks at 2am till 4am with no issues. Definately go to hotel when you land in zanzibar if you looking for a chilled homely stay with Good vibes and great people. My quality is about how well people treat me and that is value for money.
Bamboo Design Hotel is the place to stay if you are looking for peaceful and relaxing time. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, with a design that embodies modern looking, but keeps a touch of Zanzibar style, the views from the pool and restaurant are breathtaking, the staff is very nice, ready to help and they make you feel spoiled, and there is THE FOOD, which was the most delicious, from snacks, to breakfast, lunch and dinner - TASTY!
We loved our stay! Location was perfect and we even got upgraded to a sea view room which was beautiful, they provide beach beds which was also a plus. Rooms are really comfortable, clean and beds are good. Hotel manager Ismael answered to all our questions and handled everything we asked for. We also really enjoyed the breakfast with views and also the dinner options. We'll definitely stay here again when in Zanzibar, Asante Sana!
Our stay at Equalia Rose Hotel in Jambiani, Zanzibar, was a mix of highs and lows. The beachfront location was amazing, with a room offering stunning views just steps from the beach. However, frequent power outages affected our stay, leading to poor Wi-Fi and an inconsistent water boiler. Despite these issues, the friendly staff did everything they could to help. The breakfast, while decent, lacked variety and was the same each day.
The V Hotel offered everything that we needed for holidays - friendly and supportive staff, privacy, close location to the astonishing sandy beach, clean room, place to meet new people, and good starting point for trips to Zanzibar (especially East and South coast). We very much enjoyed hotel terrace in the evenings. The hotel is very comfortable and well decorated. We have very nice memories of this small but very cosy hotel.
Kiwengwa
The Zanbluu Beach Hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Zanzibar. You can enjoy a very good breakfast in the morning and a good Dinner in the evening at the Main Hall which has a great view on the sea. The Facility was great and good managed. The quality of the food is very high and the kitchen has a lot of potential albeit minor mistakes to fix to realize this potential. The staff as well as the managers were very friendly.
My family recently stayed at Zanzibar Retreat Hotel, and it was a great experience! The property is clean and well-maintained. The friendly staff went above and beyond to ensure their stay were comfortable, providing exceptional service that made them feel truly welcome. The hotel’s beautiful location is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. And the food? Absolutely delicious! Every meal was thoughtfully prepared!
Jambiani
We loved everything! The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We had a lovely stay in the La Luna Apartments. We enjoyed the air conditioning, it is a must-have in zanzibar. The property has two swimming pools and a pool bar which was very nice. The restaurant has the best food! We also enjoyed the Swahili night, it was very fun and it was great trying a variety of swahili dishes. Will definitely recommend!
Everything was perfect. All the staff was very helpful, especially Mody, the manager, who helped us with everything we needed. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was rich. We booked two excursions through the Hotel and the professional tour expert Lilian recommended the best experiences for us. We felt at home. If we come again to Zanzibar, we will definitely stay at Nungwi Ocean View!
Jambiani
New Teddy's is like paradise, a lot of corners to relax, great breakfast and good dinner. We had an excellent tour in the village with cooking class with the Hotel guide and musician Coco, who also helped us in organizing our way back to Stone Town passing by Josiani Park and a spice farm. Thanks Coco. Great place to enjoy the beach and at the same time discover Zanzibar life!
Fantastic location on the Beach (Little bit of bumpy access road but it is in Zanzibar). Absolutely brilliant staff. Good food and wine, Sparkling clean pool and facilities. We were made to feel so welcome. Hotel brilliant at arranging any trips etc. and they have good local knowledge of better paces to go/visit etc, Probably the best Boutique Hotel I have ever stayed in
Best hotel we stayed in Zanzibar. Nice big rooms, very clean, good aircon, kettle in the room, nice view, good breakfast. After Paje we went to Kendwa but we wanted to come back as all it was much better in Paje and frendlier people. With the sea the tide was not so terrible, so we could swim in the Ocean every day. Hotel has also reasonble prices of food and alcoholic drinks.
Paje
We had a very nice welcome to this beautiful Hotel. Staff are very friendly. Spezial thanks for our waitre shaffy and collin. The Breakfast is very good with a lot of different food. Also, dinner was very varied some nights there was traditional cooking or bbq. The hotel is also very close to Zanzibar Kite Paradise - surf school. This hotel is recommendable!
Outstanding personnel and Really Nice Hotel. Rooms are really spacious. Location wise - have in mind that you are on 5 min walking distance (where locals houses are) from the beach. Hotelwise - little too expensive for Zanzibar, but staff is Amazing. All of them are super responsive and will take care of your smallest requests! Cudos guys!
