I could say many things about this amazing property, starting with the beautiful rooms and the constant assistance by its super kind staff but to be honest I was particularly impressed by the location that is a real wonder of nature: this place is a paradise. I was upgraded in a Suite and I could enjoy one of the best sunset I can remember in recent times, not to mention the pristine beach. One special mention to the chef who assisted us personally and prepared some unforgettable Italian "spaghetti ai frutti di mare"!

Set in Bagamoyo, 1 km from Catholic Historic Museum Bagamoyo, Firefly West Wing offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. We stayed at the new “west wing” which is right across the road from the original firefly. We felt we got the best of both worlds: clean, new rooms with airco (and we stayed at the back so no noise roads), a second pool but also the great atmosphere and facilities of firefly. We just loved the whole setting and vibe; i even bought one of the robes from the room :-).

This was the highlight of my stay in Zanzibar! I had been moving from location to location exploring the island, originally I only intended on staying a single day in Mangapwani - however I spent my remaining 4 nights there. This stay was incredible, with Kayaks/ canoes/ snorkelling / an in house chef / hidden coves / mangroves / local fishing all available from the resort itself. The hotel itself tucked away far from the hustle and bustle that you'll find in the touristic locations - it's an ideal location is you truly want island experience with all the amenities and activities you could possible want! The last point I have to mention is owner of the hotel - Kames. Kames took the time to arrange multiple activities - trips to Mangapwani caves - where I was able to swim in the tranquil waters / The slave chamber / Trips to stone town and so much more! We shared fantastic conversations and delicious fresh meals prepared by the chef - some of the fish/ squid I caught myself! A truly unforgettable experience! I will absolutely return - thank you Kames / the team for hospitality and friendship! *if you do stay at Mangapwani- please ask Kames to tell you the story of the iPhone and Sandy Road!

Firefly ligger i Bagamoyo, 60 km nord for Dar es Salaam. Her tilbys du et utendørsbasseng, en restaurant, en bar og avgiftsfri, privat parkeringsplass. The food and staff are exceptional! We really had a fabulous weekend! We travelled with our two children (6 and 2) and they really enjoyed the outside and pool area. The prices are really also very good, and they staff really go beyond to make your stay memorable. When you are there, try the stuffed chicken, I think I would have eaten the plate too if I could chew it, it was THAT GOOD! We really enjoyed Bagamoyo as a whole, next time we are trying their Zanzibar property.
