Better Cebu than Manila
I used Cebu city as my layover hub to go to Bohol, Alona, moalboal, and Camotes Island. Cebu is a big city without the stresses that Manila has. The taxi drivers use meters and never tried to cheat me. Maybe because my appearance looks threatening, ha-ha I don't know. Anyway the visayas is a whole lot better than Luzon.

I used to live here. So I may be a little biased, but I love Dauin. It's a central hub for all things in the Visayas region: Apo Island, Siquijor, transportation to Dumaguete and Cebu, snorkeling, scuba diving, etc. The people are wonderful, and there are even a couple extra hangout spots after a long day of being away from the hotel room. Please stop at the market to try filipino delicacies and foods. It's a necessary experience. Shot out to Rosalinda restaurant next to El Dorado. The food there is great!

The Whaleshark Capital of the Visayas - Oslob, also known as the home of the Gentle Giants. Watch Oslob whale sharks for a remarkable experience however please be mindful of the rules and regulations to help maintain a healthy Oslob marine life. Take a quick boat ride to Sumilon. The gorgeous Sumilon Island Sandbar and Diving Site remains a sublimely idyllic beach escape as it was temporarily closed to the public for about 6 days for a major clean up. Imagine what Boracay would be after its rehabilitation. Just a few meters from the whale shark watching resorts and Port Sumilon is the hidden beach of Cangcua-ay. Walk a hundred steps down and you will be greeted by what seems to be the gates of paradise. After all the beach bumming, immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting the Poblacion. Found behind the somewhat busy streets of Oslob Poblacion, the Oslob Heritage Park boasts of century old structures, unfinished buildings made of coral blocks and spanish era barracks.

Although the amenities and facilities of the hotel were excellent, what really stood out was the quality of service they offered for the guests. They offer a complimentary foot wash (with light scrub) upon arrival but could also be requested at another time if you wish. My partner and I were celebrating our 5th year anniversary and there was an anniversary cake waiting for us at the room when we arrived. The room was huge with a private jacuzzi at the second floor terrace. There was also some free sweet/dessert treats every evening delivered to our room. It was my partner's first visit to the Philippines and Boracay and he was very impressed. Thanks to the team!

The territory is amazing! I haven’t seen anything like this before! The saltwater lagoon that is open 24 hours is a great option! The staff is always there for you, so nice and friendly ! And the breakfast really surprised us) every day there are different kitchens of the world (Mexican, Chinese, Italian etc). You can always find fresh fruits and juices and homemade bakery) we faced some challenges with the bank card during check in, but the staff handled the situation great and even upgraded the room category due to the inconvenience. The amazing swimming pools -- the resort is surrounded by it -- are definitely one of the resort's greatest assets. You can literally swim from one place to another. :) Breakfast is good and the staff are friendly. When one of our twins had medical issues, we received immediate assistance and contact information of the best doctors in town. The rooms look great and the beds are comfortable. I just do not understand the fact that I had to pay for two rooms that aren't connecting (not even adjacent) even when it was indicated that the other two occupants include 4-year-old twins. We ended up not occupying the other room for fear that our twins loses their way to us. To this date, I am still quite disappointed about wasting money for an unoccupied room and I do still expect a refund. I booked on 15 June and checked in about a month later. Although the property is at the beachfront, it is not totally private. You are easily approached by the vendors or tour operators/agents by the time you get past the property's premises which is a few meters from the beach.
