The hotel is in Yamagata station and had very easy access to. Once you get out the train gates there are signs for the hotel (literally a 2 min or less walk). The staff was really kind and helpful (especially since we didn’t speak much Japanese) . The room was clean and comfortable. I’m very particular with Japanese hotel bathrooms since they can be cramped (I hate how close the toilet ,sink and shower is in typical Japanese hotels), but this hotel bathroom was more spacious and comfortable to move around in

We were so full and the staff offered us take-away dessert that we could enjoy later in our room. Free shuttle bus service from Yamagata JR Station to the hotel could be reserved in advance. We were staying in one of the suites and it was sensational. We were told the room had been redone about a year ago and the room was luxurious and very spacious. We had our own private onsen which was amazing and so beautiful particularly when it was snowing. The communal area was also quite new (the photos don’t reflect the update). Watching the koi fish from this area was very relaxing. The public baths were also very clean and relaxing. The staff were very professional and kind. There was only one staff member who spoke English but everyone made us feel so welcome and we used a translating app when we needed to. I would definitely recommend staying here. I can’t speak highly enough about how much we enjoyed our time here.
