So much space for the price. It’s right in front of the beach for an amazing view. The host was super accommodating. He helped me make restaurant reservations (which you 100% need as restaurants fill up quick), gave me recommendations for what to do on the island and he even provided a bike so I can travel the island in a unique way. After visiting Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, this hotel was the perfect place to recharge from the chaos of the city. I can’t recommend it enough.

Prices are reasonable. I hardly find a Japanese style TATAMI room for single person anywhere else inJapan. Some rooms haven’t a shower but you can use ONSEN ( hot springs). The ROTEN BURO ( outside hot springs) is cosy but beautiful. They provide japanese wears after having a hot spring. Hotel Staff provided great service.

We were very happy with the breakfast and the nice staff. If you are going to visit Wakayama Castle which is next to the hotel, we recommend this hotel. It is also easy to walk around Wakayama from the hotel.

Staff were lovely and helpful and the whole place just has a nice chill slightly scandi vibe. Bear in mind the town isn't much but it's a great base for exploring the nakasendo trail

The front desk was efficient and helpful. The room had enough space for the two of us and was very clean and tidy. There were little things like the towel hook, USB and ports by the bed that made our experience so seamless. Morning breakfast was pretty solid too. I wish there were more hotels like this in Canada.

Even though the location quite take some time to walk from the nearest sea.. But the location is very good.. We really like the outdoor onsen n the cleanliness of the onsen facility.. We also like the breakfast buffet in the morning.. There is also a shuttle bus to go here n from the train station., it's really helpful for the tourist

Wakayama är min hemstad i Japan, hit kom jag första gången 1991 då hette hotellet Wakayama Terminal Hotel men blev senare Granvia Hotel. Mycket prisvärt hotell, rent och snyggt och bra storlek på rummen.

If you are one who likes unparalleled sea views hot spring baths, give this place a try! The bathroom and room decorations are a little old-fashioned and have a sense of age, but overall, everything was functional and very clean, plus room amenities were good. If the weather is good, do take a soak in the open-air footbath on the first floor of the hotel and enjoy the views while at it. They also provide yukata in the room, which can be used around the hotel as well as to bring to the bath. I highly recommend trying their outdoor bath, which has amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. Hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful, and even though some couldn't speak good English, they tried their very best to help us with any queries we had. much appreciated. Would return to stay next time!

It's located at a wonderful place, commanding a fine view. In the morning, finally understand why the name is Kirinosato. And, the place was with great hospitality.

The rooms are Japanese style and very big with an amazing view on the sea. The breakfast and the dinner (in supplement) are very good. The hotel has both an indoor and an outdoor onsen and a direct access to the sea. I will definitely come again.

We stayed here as a base for Koyasan, as we couldn’t get accommodation for five up on the mountain. We had a hire car. The road from Koyasan down here is extremely narrow and windy - it will take you half an hour, and you will want to be a confident driver on narrow mountain roads. We lived in fear that we would meet an oncoming vehicle in one of the insanely narrow stretches, but never did, thankfully. They have a restaurant on site which we recommend you use - there is nowhere else to eat within a large distance, and almost all the restaurants in Koyasan are closed in the evening. We had breakfast there which was fantastic - though a little too traditionally Japanese for our fussy teenage son’s taste. The accommodation is in a lovely quiet valley - it’s a beautiful spot. Our cabin was spacious and had good cooking facilities (though we didn’t use them). The receptionist spoke enough English to get us booked in without recourse to Google Translate. There was no wifi in our cabin - but amazingly enough there was phone reception, despite being in a deep valley in the middle of nowhere. There may be Wifi in reception but we didn’t explore this. We used the private onsen in our cabin - basically a very large stone bath that you fill from hot and cold taps to whatever temperature you want. Very pleasant. The hotel seems to offer a shuttle service to Koyasan - we didn’t use it but overheard other guests who had used it.
