The Nara Visitor Center and Inn is situated in the heart of Nara, just a 3-minute walk from Kofuku-ji Temple and Naramachi. exceeded my expectations everything was really great. staff are kind and helpful in fact they can’t be any nicer :). the room was excellent I had Japanese style very large with nice shower en-suite. loved the public bath. price is incredible as facilities are way above what you pay.

Located in Nara and with Nara Station reachable within 800 metres, 奈良旅館別館 Sweet 螢 源 provides a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a restaurant. Amazing rooms, lots of space and the luxury of private outdoor bath/shower in addition to fantastic indoor facilities. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a bit of luxury and loads of space.

Ichimaru Ryokan - Vacation STAY 35990v is located in Tenkawa, in the Dorogawa Onsen district. At the hotel, every room is equipped with a desk and a TV. I had expected the place to be a hotel and only realised after arriving that it was a traditional Japanese inn. The hosts were fantastic. Communication was with translation by iPhone but everything was clear. The inn is traditional so be prepared for the futon bed and the shared bathroom and washing facilities. But it's also small so we did not need to queue or wait. We were also provided with traditional dress which we wore to the craft beer bar close by. The hosts were wonderful. Everything from arranging a taxi to advice on what we needed for the hot spring bath in the village. The breakfast and dinner (it's an inn so both are included even though breakfast is mentioned only) were amazing. It was at a level I would expect in an expensive restaurant here but felt like you were in a home and not a hotel. The area is great for hiking and the village is just super nice. Great ice-cream place nearby also. All in all it was the best weekend break I have ever had and I have loads of memories - my advice is to go there and just immerse yourself without expectations. Again the hosts were amazing

Situated in Gose, 23 km from Subaru Hall, RITA Gosemachi features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. Overall it is a wonderful experience to stay at RITA. The history of the house, the building, the room, wonderful staff, hospitality and warm welcome and magnificent garden. The breakfast was delicious. The staff recommended very good places for dinner. We absolutely loved the stay.

Set within 1.5 km of Nara Station and 19 km of Iwafune Shrine, Nara Ryokan - Vacation STAY 49528v offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Nara. I loved that it was fairly easy to find and close to Nara’s hot spots finding everything in a walking distance. I really thought it was of great value for what I paid and although the room was smaller than I would like – I spent most my time exploring so I was just happy to come back to a comfortable and cozy place to rest and relax with a hot bath and friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again.

Set in Gose, 23 km from Subaru Hall, Yado Charinko offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking and a garden. The concept of the hotel that merges itself into the community. The hotel itself does not provide everything as one-stop service as another, you have to wander around the town to find the things you are looking for (sometime over your expectation). I was so enjoyed staying there and also the time to talk with the locals (but you may need to have some Japanese communication skill, or even you cannot, I am certainly sure that they will somehow communicate with you with their best). You must try Sento, the public available for free to their guest staying there.

Set in Nara, 2.2 km from Nara Station, Fufu Nara offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Incredible modern kaiseki dining experience, beautiful room with very comfortable beds, and an amazing setting with our in-room onsen looking out at the bamboo garden. Our experience here was top-notch and worth every penny. Would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Japan.

Located in Nara, 1.1 km from Nara Station, NIPPONIA HOTEL NARA NARAMACHI provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. Adorable ryokan, beautifully renovated from a Meiji period sake brewery. We emailed the hotel through their website before our arrival and they were very responsive and accommodating with our questions and requests. Check-in was quick and painless (Google translate helped!) and the path to the room goes through a lovely little garden. The room itself was gorgeous, clean, and spacious. We loved the design and the generous amenities provided (all drinks in fridge included). The highlight was definitely the hinoki cypress bathtub—such a relaxing soak! (For reference, we stayed in Room 107 Hinoe, a “standard triple room” on booking.com and a “VMG Grand” room on the hotel’s website. Since the rooms all looked so different from each other in the pictures, we emailed the hotel to confirm availability for the room we wanted.) The service was fantastic as well; the front desk staff was very helpful and tried to make a reservation for us when we asked, and also called a store to inquire about opening hours at our request. Breakfast was amazing too, both the food and the service. All interactions were warm and friendly. The hotel also held onto our luggage for us after checkout while we went to explore Nara. Well located on a quiet street but a short walk to Nara Park, Todaiji, and many other Nara attractions. We also got to see deer on the street next to the hotel at night! Tl;dr: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return to Nara just to stay at this hotel again.
