A 3-minute stroll from Itsukushima Shrine, Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto boasts an outdoor hot spring bath. It offers luxurious Japanese-style and Western rooms and a free shuttle from Miyajima Pier. The open air onsen was out of this world. And the futon beds gave the best sleep since visiting Japan a week ago (mostly down to lack of family snoring) but super comfortable.

Amazing value for money. This hotel provides service above and beyond; with even small details like little cakes in your room and toothbrush provided. Don't believe the reviews saying English is not spoken. Just think of booking for the restaurant a few hours in advance with reception and if you need something a little shop sells drinks, beer and snacks. We had the Japanese dinner both nights and it was delicious (lots of food though). Highly recommend.

Staying in a 100 year old traditional Japanese home was an amazing experience, and the fact that we had the whole house to yourself made it even better. In addition, the host was so kind and helpful and really went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He gave us great recommendations for dinner and helped us make reservations. The room was very spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and every amenity you could possible need was provided.
