Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodations 3.1 mi from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. The hotel was really nice with modern and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was also superb. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We had a room with lake view that was really nice. We did a road trip to East end of the Iceland and this was perfect place to stay on the east side.

Extraordinay hotel with fantastic design ideas. Especially great the record player for long-playing discs in the lounge. Charming is the mixture of guests (hotel, apartments, camping site). Very good restaurant but a little meagre breakfast (as often in Iceland).

Hotel Aldan - The Post Office is 1640 feet from the Smyril Line Ferry Terminal in Seydisfjördur. WiFi and parking are free. Beautiful location. Good breakfast but you have to pay for it separately the room was big and nicely decorated If you come, highly recommend the kiosk for a good drink and treat (added picture below-it is a separate place)

Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. Great value for money! We stayed at their chalet which was pretty cosy. Arnor the owner was very friendly, showing us the facilities and gave useful tips for travelling. They have jacuzzi and sauna at extra cost, we used both facilities and it was very relaxing enjoying the jacuzzi while watching the snow falling. Breakfast was included and they were nice. Check out was smooth. Highly recommended.

Berjaya Hérað Hotel is located in Egilsstadir, 3.1 mi from Lagarfljot River. It offers a terrace bar and 24-hour room service. All rooms have Wi-Fi, satellite TV and wooden floors. The hotel was clean and tidy and the room was spacious. It's located conveniently at the town centre. The staff were polite and helpful. We got stuck in the eastern part of Iceland for a few days during a hurricane and had to move from one hotel to another in a hectic way. Herad - Berjaya was the best among the few we stayed in.

A very nice town in East Iceland. There are walking trails that afford nice views over the town and fjord. There is a nice place for coffee and cake in the Kaupvangur building. It seemed that the only restaurant in town is at the Hótel Tangi.

Vopnafjordur is a great stop for some relaxation and hiking. The townspeople are lovely with a great sense of humour and the restaurant in Kaupvegur is a nice little spot to grab a bite and an excellent coffee. Best latte I had in east Iceland!

The hostess was very kind!
The hostess was very kind! She was warm to my children and provided a basket of play toys for my son. We stayed in one of the newer cottages with a lovely loft and just the right amount of overall room for a family of four. We wish we could have spent more time sitting and drinking on the patio area in East Iceland.

The kitchen was very good and they provided plates/pans etc... The room was also very clean. The price is very reasonable of what they offer! It is located a few minutes again from the city - you just cross a bridge! It is a perfect stop if you are planning to visit East Iceland - which is the most beautiful area in Iceland! We had a very good stay there! Well done to the owners!

Also great breakfast available as an extra. Washing machine too! Great quiet location for exploring east Iceland - not far from Stuðlagil canyon, the puffins at Borgarfjörður-Eystri, and Hengifoss.

We wish we would have booked a second night on our ring road trip to see more of East Iceland!
