Our 9 days stay in Santi Garden bungalows was absolutely amazing The bungalow had enough space for the 3 of us, the veranda with the hammock was perfect to relax and admire the views to the sea and Rubiah island.The feeling of staying in the jungle listening the birds and watching the monkeys was a unique experience. The location was perfect just 5 minutes walk to the village of Ipoh, and Olala restaurant. next to the hotel had nice reasonable priced food and marvelous views Santi was really helpful answering all our questions before our arrival and giving us helpful information during our stay Robi was also always around to help and arrange everything we needed We will always remember these kind people who made our stay to the beautiful island of Palaw Weh the best experience we had in our 2 months trip in Malaysia and Indonesia We'll soon come back!!!

Set in Bukit Lawang, Sahnan Guest House has a garden, terrace, restaurant, and free WiFi throughout the property. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, and organising tours for guests. If you want to have a good time and SEE ORANGUTANS this is the place, the team (we had two guides) knows the place like the palm of their hand, they split and search, thus, 2x chance to see orangs!! I consider this an unbeatable technique. While on our tour, we met some people that told us they saw 2 orangs in 2 days, a couple that saw 1 in their whole tour, we saw 8 orangs in just 6 hours or so!! first we saw a teen orang that started following us from the tree tops, then we crossed paths with a mama orang and her baby orang, then a single male adult, then a couple male-female, one more young adult and, THIS IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN A LONG TIME, we were tubing back down the river to the guest house and we saw this HUGE orang, it looked almost 2m and like 200lbs Breakfast was good, super good KopiSusu, omelette, banana pancakes, everything was delicious!

Situated in Bukittinggi, 1.5 km from Gadang Clock Tower, Padi Ecolodge features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. We were blown away by the beautiful grounds of the property. Surrounded by cliffs and rice fields, Padi Ecolodge is absolutely stunning. The buildings are so beautifully designed and the landscaping is gorgeous. The owner was super lovely and helpful too!

Sam's Bungalows And Treks has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Bukit Lawang. The accommodation features room service, a tour desk and currency exchange for guests. Sam is an attentive and friendly owner and his staff are excellent! Pipie his main guy was always there to chat and help plus he played Rummikub with us at night! The restaurant was very good with a great selection of food with amazing value! They booked out car from Medan and gave a motorbike ride to the hotel which added to our experience! We also booked a jungle trek with Andre and Rama as our guides… they were patient and fun to hang with and the provided a wonderful lunch plus we saw six Orangutans with a mom and baby within 5ft! A definite recommend to our friends !

Facing the beachfront, Jungle Inn Bukit lawang offers 2-star accommodation in Bukit Lawang and features a garden, private beach area and terrace. We treated ourself to a more expensive place (for Sumatra) the end of our jungle trek and we didn’t regret it. The food, facilities and room were all incredible! The staff were very welcoming and friendly and made a great relationship with the guests, especially those who stayed longer. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were happy.

TheJungleGuide - Lodges & Treks has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and restaurant in Bukit Lawang. An amazing remote spot in the middle of nature, but still on walking distance from town. The lodges are very comfortable and impeccably clean. It’s a shared bathroom, but very well maintained and loved the design.

Elephant Inn and Suite by Sajiwa is offering accommodation in Bandar Lampung. Featuring a restaurant, the 2-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. I had gone into hospital and could not check in for the dates I had booked. I was warded for six days, during which time they held my room for me. I was very grateful.

Located in Bukit Lawang, Rambai Tree Jungle Lodges features a garden, terrace, massage services, and free WiFi throughout the property. We stayed there before and after a 4 day jungle trek during the low/wet season. The bungalow was located on the river, right at the edge of the jungle. There are frequently macaque and Thomas's leaf monkeys in the trees and jumping on the roof. You can leave non-food items on the patio (like clothes drying after the jungle), but the host advised us to keep the door locked when we aren't around to keep them from coming in. We specifically chose somewhere without AC to acclimatize to the temperature and humidity, but ventilation inside was good. Porters met us at our taxi to carry the luggage through the village and across the bridge, which was appreciated.

Set in Jambi, The Difan Hotel offers 3-star accommodation with a garden, a restaurant and a bar. Beautiful small hotel. Very clean rooms with a super comfortable bed and a great hot shower. Very friendly and helpful staff! Great hotel! Highly recommend! We’ll be back for sure!

Set in Lubuklinggau, Grand Zuri Lubuklinggau offers free WiFi throughout the property. Incredible rooftop pool open til late with views out across the city and to the mountains. Smallish but clean and new rooms, comfortable bed and pillows. Great breakfast buffet with many options both traditional and western. Gym facility was well equipped and had good opening hours.
