There is no substitute to waking up to such a view, or having a quiet drink late at night on the patio and seeing the golden sunlight move down the mountain. The managers instantly made us feel at home and went out of their way to help us as we toured Snowdonia, providing hot tips and sound advice. The food was fantastic, both the breakfasts and the dinners! You must try the banana bread at breakfast; it is delicious and is served up with honey gotten from their own hives. The dinners were provided by the expert hands of Paul and Kathy; just a day gone I already miss their cooking! The country house is perfectly situated and even for our longer excursions it took no more than an hour to get to either Conwy, Caernarfon or Harlech, or any of the trailheads.

Caernarfon
Lovely hotel. The staff were super-friendly, going out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and well looked after. They found me some toothpaste when I realised I'd forgotten mine. The hotel was converted from an old farm, I believe, and is in lovely, tranquil surroundings, in rolling countryside at the foot of Eryri (Snowdonia) - with its magnificent mountains and also the sea, within easy reach. Make sure you stay for dinner - food is beautifully presented (instagramable!) and very tasty.
Cleanliness is extremely important and I was so pleased that the staff had worked hard to provide us with a very clean room and bathroom. The staff were all wonderful, polite, professional and friendly and tried to make our stay as lovely as possible. Was pleased with the tea and coffee facilities in the room too. Breakfast was lovely and well presented with plenty of choice. Hotel was set in a great location for driving to the different and spectacular areas of Snowdonia and not far from the west coast.
Machynlleth
Quaint hostel in the attic of an old house. Lots of atmosphere: the common space and garden reminded us of a yard sale! Fully equipped kitchen. Convenient small supermarket in the gas station just in front of the house. Great location to explore south Snowdonia (Cadair Idris is a 10 minutes drive away). Basic room, but we expected that. The room was clean. We did not meet the hosts but all the necessary information was provided via messages on the Booking app.
Dolwyddelan
We stayed at the Elen's Castle Hotel for three days and we loved it ! It is perfectly located in the center of Snowdonia in the middle of the mountains. The room was very cosy and comfortable and the owners were welcoming :). The included breakfast was a very nice touch to get ready before a day out exploring ! If you are looking for a nice B&B in the middle of the mountains with beautiful views, go for it !!
Trefriw
A superb B&B in a beautiful location, ideal for exploring Snowdonia. The hosts, Jasmine and Stuart, are so welcoming and knowledgeable about the local attractions, we instantly felt at home. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, freshly cooked with plenty of options. There are also several choices for places to eat out in the village, we particularly enjoyed the Fairy Falls Hotel. We cant wait to return.
Betws-y-coed
Amazing location close to restaurants and beautiful walks close by. The buses to Snowdonia are within a 5 minute walk of the hostel as well which was great! The common areas were spacious, a large kitchen to use, showers had hot water and the beds were wooden so there was no squeaking. The staff were lovely and gave us advice for our trip - would stay here again next time we’re back!
Betws-y-coed
Location was incredible for our weekend exploring snowdonia. Betwys is a lovely village with plenty of good food and lovely walks. Our dog really enjoyed. Apartment was great with a well equipped kitchen, treats like cookies, tea, coffee and wine waiting on arrival, and plenty of space for the 2 of us and our dog. Would definitely recommend a stay here
The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed. We loved that the hotel had been updated but retained some of its 16th-century character. They have a great selection of ales on tap (including two local brews) and the bartender was friendly. The location is great - in Bala centre, and close to lovely walks in eastern & central Snowdonia.
Caernarfon
Great location to explore the Snowdonia area. For just a glamping pod, the hot water was better than many apartments/homes we have stayed in; at the end of 5 showers in a row, it was still running hot! Had all the necessities of an actual home as well—fridge, 4 burner stove top, over, microwave, fullsize tv, dining area…so lovely!
Llanrwst
The room was great, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was booked for my son who was taking part in a cycle race in Snowdonia. He was able to store his bike in his room, and as he was going to leave early and miss breakfast the hotel prepared him some food to take with him. It really exceeded our expectations!
Beautiful Country House Hotel in a stunning location. We upgraded to a superior room and had a beautiful view of the mountains of Snowdonia. The breakfast was superb with excellent choices. Yes it has a short steep driveway to the House but this was not an issue for us - would definitely recommend a stay here.
Betws-y-coed
Really neat hostel in the middle of Snowdonia. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate my unexpected late arrival. Wake up to the sound of goats and roosters out your window. Sufficient facilities for taking a shower, etc though it’s not the Ritz! Right next to the bus station. Wi-Fi is a life-saver.
We were first given a room in the coach house which had very steep stairs as my sister has a heart condition she found this too difficult but the receptionist very kindly change are room to the main building. The breakfast was excellent with wonderful views. Hotel a short walk to the snowdonia train.
Llanberis
Amy and James were amazing, great personalities, looked after us very well, were very attentive and made us feel like at home, very relaxed atmosphere. The hotel itself is very clean and cosy and their cats add to the character. Very good place as a base for Snowdonia adventures.
Stayed for a long weekend as competing in the Snowdonia Trail Marathon. Hotel was a great location with easy access to the event village. It was set in lovely grounds with a beautiful view of the lake. The room was clean and comfy. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Criccieth
Great value Hotel in prime location for the area. The breakfast is great and rooms were a good size with great bathroom. The Hotel is obviously dated and in an old building but for a welcoming stay in Snowdonia you couldn't ask for more.
What a gem! The hotel has an amazing atmosphere. Very homely and cosy. What a treat after a day spent hiking in Snowdonia. Both ladies looking after the property were lovely. We loved it so much that we decided to stay an extra day.
Caernarfon
Su .. the director of the hotel is so good & supportive ... She made our stay so comfortable, Even staff were also very good & kind , also excellent location in snowdonia. Close to all supermarket, restaurant etc
Nice hotel in a peaceful, lush setting. A short walk from a very small town, but nice amenities and good food. Friendly, helpful staff. Dog friendly (the whole town is very dog friendly), good base to explore Snowdonia
Stunning location: I know Snowdonia pretty well, having visited for the last 40 years, but this area is just the best. Close to walking trails, gorgeous little village and peaceful spot.
