The Maynard

After a few complications at the airport, our stay at the Maynard was just what we needed to finally ease into the desired relaxation for one's holiday. The atmosphere was very welcoming, our room very charming and the food at the restaurant was fantastic. For us, the location was great as well. It's good for hiking/walking and exploring the Peak District National Park. I highly recommend a stay here. Hope to be back sometime.

I used to clean 5 Star rooms in college--so I have an eye for this! Rooms were also super cozy with the cutest view of the river! Also, they are the perfect size--and on the bigger side for space. The staff seemed family oriented --super nice and went above and beyond for us! I have never experienced such hospitality.

Virkelig en positiv oplevelse. Fantastisk indretning i en stil som var det for 150 år siden. Yderst imødekommende og venligt værtspar, aldeles fremragende morgenmad og en lille bar i underetagen var bare prikken over i'et. Hotellet ligger lige ud til hovedvejen gennem byen, men trafikstøj var der INTET af, takket være gode vinduer. På trods af de manglende spisesteder, er hotellet et perfekt udgangspunkt for udflugter i den sydlige del af Peak District.

The breakfast was great, food, staff and dining room was extremely pleasant. I’d been wanting to stay at Shrigley for years and my stay exceeded my expectations. The room with the view overlooking the front was amazing and I particularly enjoyed and appreciated the original features and history of the building it has a real Downton Abbey feel to it. it was gorgeous! I felt like I’d gone back in time to another era. You can’t help but walk in and simply say WOW! The grandness of the place takes your breath away. it was unbelievable. Just walking down the stairs from the 3 rd floor made you feel regal!

Excellent service and friendly staff. The room was comfortable and well-stocked with complimentary items, and the beds and pillows were especially cozy. Breakfast was delicious, with the added bonus of being able to choose from a made-to-order menu at no extra cost. Overall, the location is very convenient, and we enjoyed our stay.
