Filip and his family are very friendly hosts. Filip is a great cook and can tell you a lot about costa rica and nature. Filip created lots of hiking trails which are a lot of fun! We had a really great time with him.

Facing the beachfront, Ocean Forest Ecolodge offers 3-star accommodation in San Pedrillo and features a garden, private beach area and shared lounge. Truly paradise. We arrived and immediately experienced watching baby turtles enter the sea. It was not too difficult to get there (though it takes some effort); we were there with 69 and 72 year-old parents and they did fine! We had the garden cabin from which we could watch monkeys and toucans eating in a tree while laying in our hammocks. The yoga building is beautiful and there are lots of nice nooks to lay and read. We also got to use the surfboards one afternoon. Plenty of places to hike and things to do. The staff was very warm and helpful. Great vibes.

The Jaguars Jungle Rainforest Lodge - All meals included features a garden, private beach area, a terrace and restaurant in San Pedrillo. One word: paradise! Never been to such a great place before! It was such a warm welcome from the hosts Sofia, Ben and Monica. They took such great care of everything and always with a happy smile. also the food was mucha deliciosa! Yordany the chef created the best (vegan) food I have ever had during my journeys, you can even taste the love! We also learned some Bachata moves from Eddy the bartender and caretaker. He spreaded the best vibes and created unforgetable evenings. The tours were amazing! Yaznir and Diego are the best guides you could wish for. They know everything about nature, animals and jungle life and do it with such a great passion and a lot of humour. I will miss these two a lot. And also the owner taught us some wake boarding on the sea for fun - this guy has some skills! Everything was cleaned daily and there is not a thing to complaine about. It was my best vacation ever and I will definitely come back soon!

Hotel Hoja de Oro Corcovado features accommodation in Puerto Jiménez. The property is non-smoking and is situated 2.5 km from Tigre Beach. Very clean, super sweet family. Felt very safe, comfy and we would return in a heart beat. Puerto Jimenez is a jewel. We are so glad we went down to explore the area and cant wait to go back. Thank you Hoja de Oro for making our trip so enjoyable.

Cabinas Jimenez offers an outdoor pool and is located right by the beach of the beautiful Gulfo Dulce. Nice hotel by the beach. Very friendly and helpful staff. They organized an amazing dolphin-watching boat trip. Possibility to borrow bikes and kayaks for free.

Cabinas Tropicales is set in Puerto Jiménez. Featuring a garden, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Staff on site can arrange a shuttle service. All in all, a highly recommended hotel. The price/performance ratio is absolutely right and the hotel staff is extremely friendly and interested in ensuring that their guests are satisfied. Situated on the beachfront in La Palma, Terrazas del Golfo has a garden. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. We felt at home. Room quality was as expected. We rfelt part of nature just sitting at our huge balcony. It was like being inside a protected national park right in front of the beach. The level of service provided by hotel staff was excellent. The hotel's service quality such as staff friendliness, responsiveness, and professionalism was the best we had in Costa Rica. We will surely be coming back soon.

Situated in Puerto Jiménez, 700 metres from Playa Isidora, Kunken Boutique Hotel & Spa features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a private beach area. The lodge is surrounded by nature in a clearing directly on the Golfo Dulce. There are only 6 bungalows, so the number of guests remains small and this provides a very relaxed atmosphere. The bungalows each have 2 bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms, one of which has an outdoor shower. In one of the rooms there is an (empty) fridge, a coffee machine and a tea maker. There is no television (why would there be in this environment). There is no air conditioning, only a ceiling fan, which is quiet and efficient. All terraces offer beautiful views over the gulf. The two bedrooms are only separated by a thin wall, so you can hear everything that happens in the other room. They are therefore more suitable for families or if you know each other (very) well and can put up with that. We were travelling as two couples and didn't realise this. We felt it was a great courtesy that we were offered accommodation in separate bungalows for at least 3 of the 4 nights we had booked, as the booking situation allowed for this. We also felt that we were well looked after in every other respect. Everyone was very friendly and our every wish was fulfilled. There were lots of animals to watch and the best thing was the macaws that had their lunch in a tree on the beach every evening. We had a partner massage in an enchanted spa in the forest by a stream, which was unique. You get used to the lack of air conditioning surprisingly well, especially as it cools down to 20°C at night and the bungalows are open all round (protected by fly screens). Contrary to expectations, there were hardly any mosquitoes. The food was very good and varied enough for a 4-day stay. There was only a small salad as an alternative to soup as a starter, in this respect there could be a little more choice. Everything is very attractively designed. Thanks to the Kunken team for a great stay at this special place! We will definitely be back.
