The city is like a beautiful museum. All the buildings are gorgeous, just like old Europe. The people are also lovely and friendly. It doesn't matter if you Don't speak French well, if try to say a few French words they really appreciate it. The food is also unique and fabulous. There's nothing bad to say about Quebec City!
Quebec City can be enjoyed in 3 days. If in Montréal, make sure to visit the Basilica light show. Go early and buy tickets there. Drive up to Tadoussac. Forget whale watching. Stop in Saint Paul if you enjoy art galleries. There is a Bed and Breakfast there with an unusual spa.
Old Quebec City was so enchanting. SO much to do and not enough time to see it all. We are planning on returning at a later date to take in more of the beauty of this city.
Walk the old walled city and then take a walk to the Citadel (if you like history take the tour here to learn about the city of Quebec) and Plains of Abraham. Take the Grand Allee full of bars and restaurants back to the old city. We loved taking a local bus to Montmorency Falls, take the bridge across the falls and the stairs down and then the gandola back up. Lastly take the ferry across to Levis to get an excellent view of the city. If you have bikes this is the place to ride them.
So much to see and do. Take a trip to Quebec City is well worth it. The mountains, the Olympic stadium are also worth a trip. Great location for the crescent which you can get good food and drinks.
Local people so friendly and helpful when asking for advice. Musicians playing and singing. Old Quebec wonderfull and spotlessly clean. Ten plus. Bus and river trip a must thing to do. So many great restaurants.
Loved the old town, port, botsnic garden and Olympic area. Get the bus to quebec. Stay in the old town. You can see enough if you stay overnight and then you can also do montmorency falls. Try the poutines. Loved mont royal and mctavish walk back takes you past refpath museum which is small but free plus great exhibits. Don't bother with tourist bus in either place.routes are limited and you can easily walk. Taxis from airport to downtown Montreal ate $40 but everyone will expect a tip and won't be shy to ask you.
Has much to offer. Everyone should visit old Quebec city - within the walls and ensure to go down to the lower level city as well. Walk to everywhere once you park in the old city. Excellent restaurants at reasonable costs.
I loved Quebec City. It's charm, architecture and history made me enjoy it regardless of the fact it is a complete tourist trap and expensive. Would have loved more time to explore more of the surrounding areas away from the city.
Loved the history and vibe of the town. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. If you like to walk it is very easy to get around and the bus facilities are great, you can buy a day pass or add money to a travel card. I would have liked to see more options for day trips to the countryside, perhaps wine tasting or a foodie tour for the locally made and grown fresh produce . I could only find one in the city of Quebec and one to the Isle d’Orleans. Great meal at the Hobbit, excellent ice cream shop in rue st Jean opposite the Youville pub and shopping was available everywhere. As well as all the chateaux, galleries, museums and historical buildings make sure you visit the area at the base of the Funiculaire, beautiful town square and the rue du Petit-Champlain. Enjoy!
Perfectly located near one of the most charming parks in Quebec City and also right in front of the Musee Beaux des Arts. Just one block away from one charming Rue with a lot of restaurants and cafe options. The bus stops right in front of the Hotel and it can’t get more convenient to get to the old town just by getting the bus and returning from the city with no hassle at all. The room is charming and comfortable, breakfast is delicious and generous and you can even add extra items to the already varied buffet options.
The room quality is consistent with the value we paid C$341.10 for two nights (including taxes and an upgrade with a balcony ($14). The room was clean and free parking. The upgrade had no added value because the balcony was locked, perhaps for safety reason. The hotel is located outside Old Quebec City and we took bus for about 30 minutes to commute to the tourist areas. Hotel Staff did not recommend driving to Old Quebec City as it was difficult to find parking space and fee was expensive.
The Hotel Manoir Victoria, has friendly staff, eager to make your stay a pleasant one. Centrally located in Quebec City, you will enjoy walking through their neighborhood, tasting the local culinary dishes and visiting in their local shops. Quebec City is beautiful and should be enjoyed on foot but the hotel can also set you up with a Hop On- Hop Off tour of the city if you're a first time visitor. If you are planning to visit Quebec City, the Hotel Manoir Victoria is great.
Our room on 10th floor had a lovely view of the Parliament, and the décor was modern and comfortable. The soundproofing of windows was excellent, so we had a peaceful night. Hotel's location is ideal—close to everything, making it easy to get around to Vieux-Québec. We also appreciated the convenience of direct access to the parking lot from the building. Plus, the receptionist (in training) was very helpful in resolving a small issue with the room <3
Our room was super comfortable, lots of space, nice kitchen unit. Hotel was very clean, had an excellent restaurant that featured traditional Quebec and Alsatian cuisine. Staff friendly and helpful, a coffee machine in the lobby was really high end, gave a great coffee or espresso. Hotel was in a neighborhood away from the Old City tourism area, but transit was easy to access and there were little shops and restaurants and grocery stores.
Quebec City
This is a great location with easy access to the lower old Quebec shops and restaurants and history. It’s a good walk up to see more landmarks and museums. If you are starting or ending a cruise in Quebec City, this is the perfect spot. The apartment it self connects two large suites and a bedroom by a very large dining, kitchen and living room space. The hosts are very pleasant and are very proud of what Quebec City has to offer.
Short Stay at Travelodge by Wyndham Quebec City Hotel & Convention Centre We stayed at Travelodge by Wyndham Quebec City for just one night before heading into the city, and it was a decent stopover. The hotel had nice parking and felt pretty safe. We stayed on the upper level, and while the rooms have been renovated, the elevators and overall property felt old. The corridor carpets were also a bit worn out and had a slight smell.
Hotel is not new but well maintained. Breakfast is very good for this class of hotels. At least much better than in another Comfort Inn - Edmonton Comfort Inn - where we also stayed during our trip in Canada. Hotel located directly on the Rt 138 2-3 miles before the intersection with Rt 389 driven from Quebec City. McDonalds and Tim Hortons are nearby. The old town and ferry terminal 5-7 miles further down
Breakfast was included which was a bonus. Fruit, cereal, yoghurt, bagels, croissants, toast, pancakes, coffee/tea, bacon, juice/milk so lots to choose from. Walking distance to lots of the highlights of Old Quebec, the ferry, Place Royal, Notre Dame, Chateau Frontenac and more. Lots of cafes and restaurants close by. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend this Hotel.
Hotel was about 15 minute drive to Old Quebec City. Parking was included and very convenient. There is a pub/restaurant in the hotel with cheap but strong cocktails, ok food. We were on the 4th floor, fridge got restocked with water, beer and orange juice daily. Room was spacious, beds comfortable and nice strong AC. Bathroom was on a smaller size, but did the job.
Very nice, quiet haven in the middle of old Quebec. Great breakfast, staff was very helpful and the place is well maintained. Centrally located, close to restaurants, Chateau de Frontenac, Parliament n all sites, within 15 mins walking distance. The free guided tour of the museum in the hotel is worth a visit, takes you back 400yrs.
Saint-Férréol-les-Neiges
Lisa and Pat where excellent hosts. Lisa gave us a great recommendations about hiking in the surrounding area and restaurants in Quebec. We followed her advise to the T and had a great time. They have a farm not far from the Hotel with beautiful horses that we had a pleasure interacting with. The food served was also excellent.
Hotel Palace Royal in Old Quebec is a top-notch place to stay with its cleanliness, attentive staff, and prime location near Fairmont Le Chateau. The room's espresso coffee is delightful. I accidentally left my keys behind, but the hotel efficiently located and shipped them back to me upon my request.
Location and new recent hotel, near Montmorency Falls and Ile d'Orleans. Cleanliness, breakfast included and comfortable King size view with view of river. TV channel service. No french Radio Canada news. Some channels like CNN and Tele Quebec, worked OK for a while, then disappeared later at night?
Quebec City
The location was excellent. In the heart of Old Quebec, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. View out our wall of windows towards Notre Dame was very scenic. Close to parking garage. The apartment was roomy and comfortable. While it was just two of us, it could easily accommodate a family of four.
Hotel uses its splendid location on the shore to its fullest, with many rooms as well as the common areas looking out onto the lake. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, one could easily spend several days here. Free parking space in front and easily accessible from Montréal and Quebec City.
Location is very good. Heart of Old Quebec. Walkable to all places. Staff was very friendly. Helped with me directions, getting to airport and luggage. Bathroom was okay, hot water and toilet not an issue. Hotel is tucked in a narrow street off a Main Street, and room is very quiet.
Lévis
Location was excellent! It is an easy drive from Toronto. The view from our room was picturesque . You can see the Hotel Frontenac across the river in the distance. Food at the local Restaurant, Le Corsair was delicious and service was top notch. It’s an excellent way to see Quebec City!
We were on the road heading out to eastern Canada and decided to stop for a night in Quebec City and do some discovery. We wanted something just off the highway to make getting going in the morning quicker. The hotel was newer, clean and in excellent condition.
Hotel was very clean, with a quirky 2-story layout to our room. Price was great for what we got and it was in the perfect location to get to everything we wanted to do. I adored this place and if we go back to Quebec City it’ll be where we stay in the future!
