The views from the public terrace of Sao Filipe are stunning. I stayed in the luxury room 10 two nights and it was so beautiful with a very high ceiling, a full two door window that opens to purple bougainvillea and the same gorgeous view as the terrace. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have tried in my life, firm but still soft. The workers are nice and helpful if you need any help planning a trip to the volcano, etc. The owner is generous and kind and the atmosphere among the staff is comfortable. Breakfast is a fancy version of a typical Cabo Verde breakfast: white bread, boiled eggs, guava jelly, Fogo traditional cheese, papaya, etc. The location is in the heart of Sao Filipe and walking distance to all the restaurants and the black beach.

Edificio Cosec Hotel er með útisundlaug, sameiginlega setustofu, veitingastað og bar í Cova Figueira. The staff especially the owner Toni were so helpful in arranging transfers and organising our stay. The room was very nice and the swimming pool was great. The evening we stayed there coincided with an amazing event celebrating Women of Cape Verde with a banquet, disco and excellent live musicians. Toni helped us plan our walking tour to Alcatraz and Faja which was excellent. The hotel's location is good if you are planning hikes in the area (which is cooler than most of the island) such as around Estancia Roque and along the coast. The paths are well marked. Finally Toni made sure we got back to Sao Filipe ok when the normal aluguers werent't running as it was a holiday. I wish them all the lu ck in the world in making the hotel a success.

Everything was perfect. The location and the view is spectacular, even better than the photos. And the staff went above and beyond with everything. We were treated so well. The food was also delicious. Would definitely come back!

Breakfast is basic but adequate. Restaurant service at the sister hotel very slow at times.
