Set on the banks of the Tugela River, 22 km north of Winterton, Tugela River Lodge features self-catering accommodation 13 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve and 22 km from Winterton Museum. We loved this location - quaint, comfortable, and welcoming. The setting and the cabin were fabulous. Julian, our host was great. The cabin had everything we needed. It was clean and roomy, and the beds were comfortable. The wood-heated hot tub was fun. Guest could rent bikes, buy firewood, and 'shop' in the farm stall for fresh eggs, honey, wonderful homemade freezer meals, and much more There are several trails right out the front door that enable you to hike or mountain bike to a reserve with zebras and giraffes. We all wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks Julian!

Upon arrival she offered us guest house instead of 1 room accomdation at no extra cost she also offered cleaning service at no extra charge...Princess and Florence gave us warm welcome not only was service great but they provided delicious breakfast. Tea, coffee,hot chocolate, milo freely available throughout the day. Absolute serenity and beauty...definitely visiting again.
