The surrounding area is beautiful and relaxing, with typical Japanese multi-level fields next to wild forest. We also had a great time talking to the non-English speaking members of the staff via voice translation apps.

We were the only guests and had use of all the facilities- being able to wash and dry clothes overnight was very useful. The owner of the house was exceptionally helpful - she drove us around and we took her to dinner in the evening and she took us to her favorite bar. It was fun to have our own guide and interesting to talk to her about the area. She also drove us to the station the next morning. Definitely a cultural experience!

We've been in many hotels and houses in Japan these past two weeks and this was by far the best one! Highly highly highly recommend!

Great way to keep warm while sitting at the table. in the main house, the bedroom is on the first floor and the bathroom on the main floor, which means navigating steep stairs if you need to get up in the middle of the night.
