The neighbourhood was quiet and peaceful and there were many shops nearby. Tomaruku was an excellent choice and we would love to return one day in the near future.

My daughter and I stayed at Daisuke's place in Shimanto on our recent Japan holiday. It has been the highlight of our trip. Despite being told by the host to not go on the 439 road we unfortunately didn't notice that's exactly where Google was taking us and had a very scary 30min. The futons were the most comfortable beds so far, and there was plenty of space. Dinner provided and made by the host was delicious and fresh with a surprise seafood platter by his friend. After a day making knives at a local workshop we returned to join Daisuke for dinner at good friends. They were some of the loveliest and liveliest people we have met, amazing food and amazing company all night. Overall, we are definitely going to be returning!

It is charming and full of authenticity. We felt very confortable thanks to the owner’s amazing hospitality. The house is 20 min drive to Kochi downtown. It is nestled in the country side surrounded by rice field and nature.
