I always go to Skye for my birthday for a few days and had never been to the Elgol part of the island. I know the island and the climate quite well so was expecting pretty much anything and everything. I booked this because of the view and it absolutely did not disappoint! The day of my birthday was gloriously sunny and I sat with a lovely glass of chilled champagne, looking at that view in the afternoon. It is absolutely idyllic and even the word perfect isn't good enough. The bed was so comfortable I slept a FULL 8 hours uninterrupted and then had coffee in bed with that view too. The shower was fabulous and the towels were spot on. The little toilet with the ever-so-cute wash hand basin was like stepping into a little bit of Hobbiton haha. So quirky and wonderful. Dishwasher was handy on the last day when you are rushing to check out The day after my birthday was quite stormy so lighting the fire and enjoying the rest of my champagne in the cosy atmospheric cabin was just absolutely perfect. Sunshine or storm I couldn't fault any part of it. The finishing bit of "polish" on the whole thing was the little hip flask of whisky which I suspect was Talisker (which I happen to love) that was there on arrival was the cherry on top of the cake so to speak. This place hasn't been open that long for bookings relatively speaking but it is already booked up for most of the year and you can absolutely see why. So I found a slot in the summer where there's the obvious more daylight hours and sunsets and booked again it was so good. It really is that lovely!!!

The Cabins - House of Juniper, a property with a bar, is set in Broadford, 14 km from Kyle of Lochalsh, 27 km from Eilean Donan Castle, as well as 26 km from Museum of the Isles. So much better than expected. We will definitely visit again. Great cabin and great food 👌

Set in Dunvegan and only 2.8 km from Coral Beach, Lampay Chalets offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Wow! We can’t say enough good things about the owners or the facilities. Absolute gem of a place and John & Karen are salt of the earth people. The location is gods country with endless beauty. We could spend the rest of our lives combing the beaches of this area for the rest of time.

Located in Portree, just 37 km from Dunvegan Castle, 25 Windsor Crescent provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. Kitchen was spacious, I appreciated the dryer being located near the entrance, thus keeping noise level at a minimum.

Skye Eco Bells is an Eco Glamping site on the Isle of Skye. The 3 Cabins are located in an off-grid site with individual fire pits and 2 acres woodland. Such an experience. Lovely cabin & relaxing location. The greenhouse shower was fantastic. There is a little beach nearby which the dogs loved.

Offering garden views, Hartaval & Baca Ruadh in Staffin provides accommodation and a garden. There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay. Simply amazing. We rented both cottages for our two families and they are so spacious and comfortable. The host has thought of everything to make guests feel at home, with lovely little touches throughout the rooms. Warm and welcoming, furnished to a very high standard with a large kitchen and living area, modern bathrooms with excellent power showers, and super comfy beds and quality linens. Everything was spotlessly clean and the kitchen is really well-equipped with everything you could need for self-catering and long stays. Large utility room in the entranceway too, useful for changing and drying (though we were lucky with the weather and didn’t need it...) and more storage space than anyone could ever need...games and puzzles, DVDs, CDs and books provided too. We only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it all even more! Perfect location as a base for exploring Skye (especially the northern part) less than half an hour north of Portree and right next to Kilt rock. If it's available, don’t hesitate for a second, this place is idyllic!

The location of the property is practically at the end of a single track road that starts at Dunvegan..It’s certainly quite with lovely views that include coral beach..If you allow 25 minutes each way and travel at a pace the roads and wildlife deserve the time / distance is fine..
