The perfect, relaxing getaway made possible by Alison, who went out of her way to make sure our stay would be the best! Every detail was there. The room was so comfortable, lovely grounds to wander around with settings to enjoy the scenery and serenity. Could it get better, wait until breakfast - what a way to start the day. Maddies is also handy to the attractions of the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens. Thanks Alison for your making us feel so welcomed.

The accommodation is fantastic with everything you need for a long or short stay, with quality furnishings & bedding & towels. There is also outside space to enjoy a cuppa, watch the sun go down, the birds visiting the jacaranda tree, or on a cool evening, sit by the fire pit. I cannot praise Helena enough, she goes above and beyond. Such an amazing hostess and truly a kind and special lady. I may have left Australia with a heavy heart but gained a friend.

We booked the room with 2 bedrooms and living area, room 1. The place was nicer than expected and better than the photos. Spacious living area with a great view and fully equipped kitchen. Although when we used the microwave, it seemed like it worked but didn’t heat anything so had to just use the stove. There’s also a coffee machine but no pods available so you’ll need to bring your own nespresso pods. They give complimentary teas, and coffee sachets, and sugar, salt, pepper, and 2 small packets of milk. They have all pots and pans, plates, utensils available to use. The rooms were very clean and nice. Awesome view of the lake from the entire place. Separate showers and toilets which was great. They provide shampoo, body wash, bath salt for the tub, cotton buds, slippers to wear inside the place etc. the balcony is nice and spacious and has table and chairs so you can sit out with the view of the lake. Overall it was a nice place and would come back again!
Ps-love that the place is dog friendly!!!!

Spacious room and location with marvellous country view from the verandah accessed via French doors from our room. Wooden sauna is a definite luxury after a day of sporting competition.
location average as in neither good nor bad. There is a vet clinic next door with yappy dogs but Friday 4pm they disappeared for the whole weekend. Very peaceful, quiet nights ,dark rooms, good for sleeping.
The local pub Windsor castle has a good (huge) dining room.
I gave this the ratings that I did because the staff are excellent and it's very convenient and PET friendly. There is a fenced yard for the pets and a verandah to sit on. The room isn't the most elegant but we weren't looking for that. We needed somewhere to stay with pets. We are repeat visitors and they are always the first place that we call.
