Located in Jinja, 2.3 km from Jinja Golf Course, Jinja Backpackers provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. It’s a beautiful, peaceful property with good facilities, good food and friendly staff. The mosquito net covered the whole bed and there was a fan and we had hot water with good pressure. I appreciated James’ coffees, and especially his caffe latte-to-go for me to enjoy upon our arrival in Kenya after the long night bus. And the cats, Irene and Dan 😻 Thank you!

The owner guy from Zimbabwe does an excellent job with his team (except he never got back to me with his contact for the gorilla trekking in Congo, which in any case we couldn't do since they closed the park/border in Congo right before we were going to head there), but again I would like to give it to the kindness and politeness of the Ugandan people (the staff) that makes the difference for me. The food, drinks, the cleanliness of the room and the hotel grounds altogether way beyond African standards for the price they are charging. I wanted to stay longer but couldn't convince my travel partner who wanted to carry on with the itinerary sooner otherwise wonderful place to unwind, enjoy Jinja and its surroundings. Big plus: simply fantastic breakfast, the best we had in whole Africa (except if you are staying more than one night it is the same everyday and can be repetitive...)

Situated in Jinja, 600 metres from Jinja Golf Course, Home OnThe Nile Dorm features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a bar. Super sweet vibe at Home On The Nile, the staff is so welcoming and so is the owner. You will feel right at home, the location is beautiful and accompanied by beautiful music at the bar. The dorm was great, very comfortable and so was the main house. You will really miss out if you don't book at Home on the Nile!! I had the Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner and it was a delicacy!! Can only recommend ;) Even when I wanted to move at night I was provided with a trusted Boda Boda Driver. Same for my planned activities. I felt very cared for.

Sheila, the staff member I interacted with primarily, was a lovely host. The room was outstanding. The location afforded a nice view of Lake Victoria and the Jinja Pier.

This is a wonderful place, in a great location. The room was beautiful and clean, the veiw outstanding and the staff were so friendly, professional and helpful. I would definately recommend this place to anyone.

Offering a garden and garden view, Home On The Nile Ernest Hemingway Suite is set in Jinja, 6.4 km from Jinja Railway Station and 10 km from Source of the Nile - Speke Monument. Truly, having travelled to probably 70 countries over the past thirty years, this is place I will remember and yearn to return to the most. I actually changed my travel plans so that I could return for a second night a few days after the first. The location is second to none (I know some people may prefer to be "in town" but its a beautiful ten minute walk and the site, on the banks of the Nile, is heavenly!) - the hosts and staff just so genuine and welcoming and accommodating and the room everything I could have wanted.
