My favorite hostel of all time. The bed area is so spacious, I’ve never had such a large bed in a hostel. The duvet and bedsheets are so nice that I just want to sleep in longer ~ It’s obvious that the owner has given careful thoughts on how to make the guests’ stay more comfortable- the powder room has large mirror, chairs and one lamp per seat to assist your makeup :) Location is great too - just a few minutes from the train station (north exit!) and the bus station to anywhere you need to go.

Located in Shima, B&B Forest Shima features accommodation with a garden with a children"s playground. Everything, there was a lovely warm atmosphere and the facilities were great. Breakfast was delicious too.

Offering river views, Yadokari Shima is an accommodation set in Shima, 8.3 km from Tomoyama Observatory and 8.4 km from Kirigaki Observatory. Great place to stay right on the water. Easy enough to get to if you know how to drive. Bring food as there is all the mod cons to cook with. Restaurant next door but unsure of hours open.
